When it involves The Rangers obviously.

Am I being stupid here.

A transfer embargo was placed on them starting from 1 September 2012.
This will end on 31 August 2013 - the same time as the transfer window closes.

How is it possible for them to sign anyone before the new window opens in January next year?

Isn't it all out of contract players they are signing?

They will sign for rangers on sept 1st, probably they currently all have pre contracts that will say they aren't getting paid until that date or something.

All these players they're signing are out of contract. They're telling them to sit tight until 1st September when they'll still be free agents and then they will sign for The Rangers. The farcical part is that because they're free agents they will all be able to play as trialists for them until 1st September anyway!

They're not really signing him though, are they? They're unable to register him as a player until their embargo is lifted and that shouldn't preclude them from speaking to people and setting up deals in principle.

Apparently all the players that will sign on September 1st are able to play in their 1st 3 league games as trialists.

This transfer embargo has been a joke from start to finish. The only time they have actually suffered becaus of it was in January.

Agree the best bit was when they were able to fill their team with SPL players before the embargo kicked in. Absolute genius by the authorities.

Last summer Rangers 'negotiated' the actual punishments they would 'accept'. Their embargo should have been backdated to the previous April when an SFA QC led enquiry issued sanction.

Last years suspension of the embargo until after the transfer window closed is as big a scandal as anything else in this Rangers whitewash and should be to the SFA's eternal shame but you can't shame the unshameable.:cb

The PFA have warned them all to be wary of this with regard to being insured for injury whilst playing as a trailist.

I understand how they are getting around the rules - but - are they being paid between now and September 1st?

according to Mc Coist, the Hun-durian will "blend" with the rest of midfield. sounds like a right dirty barsteward with "bite". just what's needed alongside a midfield of barstewards.
