Is anyone in the same frame of mind as me and they're not that bothered at all about the national team?

It would be a joke if the above is true and Sparky gets left out.

Hearing Tony Watt (Celtic) & Stuart Armstrong (DundeeUtd) likely to be named in #Scotland (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Scotland&src=hash) squad for WC qualifier against #Croatia (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Croatia&src=hash).

If Sparky doesn't get called up he would be best to announce his international retirement now.

I am 99.9% certain he will be in it though:agree:

Would be a complete and utter joke if Tony Watt got the nod instead of Leigh...
Think Sparky will be in it however.

Where is Phil Bardsley ? Best right back available to Scotland. Alan Hutton - does Strachan no watch the games. Going by the Tony Watt rule and our current options Jordon Forster can count himself unlucky (and I am only half joking).

From what I've seen from watching La Liga recently, Hutton is doing quite well.

Happy to see Tony Watt called up, doing well in u21s and good to blood the young players and get them involved, he probably won't play many minutes.

Picking Wallace is to keep The The Rangers sweet so that they will cooperate if and when they get back to the SPL.

If this is the reason then its pathetic. Footballer wins a few quid and makes tit of himself and by the way sober .

What defenders would you select instead?

Caldwell has his calamity moments, but he's a decent defender who gets a hard time on here. Webster is slowing down, but probably still one of our only options at CB. I'm not sure what sort of form Hutton has been in, but he has been playing regularly for a La Liga side.

I agree with you on Wallace, he's a good player, but it is unfair on him to expect him to step up from SFL 3 level to international level and it is unfair on other Scottish players playing at a higher level than him.

He's picking Wallace because he's the best left back we have available. Doesn't matter who he plays for. Before you come back with "he won't be up to stratch playing in Div 3", that will be decided by Strachan in training with the rest of the squad. Amazed that this Rangers business is still seen as an issue with Strachan who is not only a Hibs fan but an ex-Celtic manager - I don't think he cares who guys play for, only that they give their all under his management.

Surprised to see George Boyd left out of the squad but it's far from the worst Scotland squad I've seen. A decent blend of youth and experience IMO.

Is Johnny Russell still injured at the minute?

Apparently Boyd left out cos he's getting married around that time

To me it looks like Strachan is actually trying to put together a team that can play football as opposed to Potter's 'grab a point' approach. Could be exciting up front for a change.

The defenders are chronic that's not a dig at Strachan but the fact we have very little in good quality defenders. The midfield and attacking options are very good indeed also noticed no miller no brown either

Hanlon is a better defender than Caldwell and Webster.

No chance Hanlon is better than Caldwell, a player with over 100 appearances in the premier league, many of them as captain.

Webster probably just edges it over Hanlon as well due to his greater experience.

Experience counts for nothing nowadays. Ask sir alex. Forster is better than Webster for crying out loud

Miller is only mising because he has an injury. Strachan said we'll see him again in the next squad.

It actually makes me despair, TBH.

Never really understand players who retire from international football, only 29 so plenty to offer and should be able to cope with the demands. Doesn't have to worry about going to major tournament finals so what's his problem.

A strop because he wasn't selected by GS for the latest squad?

He's pish anyway. He might do it for the Tims on occasion but he's never impressed me in a Scotland shirt.

I think he had some personal problems. His wife lost a baby, she was on TV recently campaigning about something. Maybe got a bit on his mind at the moment

Caldwell is rank rotten and has been for at least 18 months. Webster is done also. This is a game thats worth nothing and should be about building for the future. A few older headds in the squad for exp but the rest should be youth. Its time to change.
