Alright lads.Is there anyone other than Jack Hackett travelling from Nerja looking for transport to go to Gibraltar?
Out of interest, how you getting from the airport to La Herradura and back? Taxi will cost you a fair whack.

There are 6 of us in the family and my buddy which is 7 getting a minibus off a local from La Herradura. 105 euro each way but we are getting two lifts when we are flying out.We normally rent a car but we had a new arrival last Sept which means we have to look at minibuses or family wagons now

Was gonna say your cheaper hiring a car (would have made get to Gib a lot easier as well) but 7 off you with luggage pushes the price right up. Have you asked the mini bus driver for a price to Gib and back.

Take a jumper as well. Went down their a couple of years from costa del sol. When we left our resort it was 30 degrees. It was lucky if it was 10 in Gibralter and foggy as well

Just spoken to Richard Manning, the secretary of Gibraltar FA. The procedure will be to send him an email at
[email protected]
letting him know how many tickets you want and they'll be available for payment and pick-up at the ground.
Next big question is gonna be.....what bar are we going to meet up in? :greengrin

Next big question is gonna be.....what bar are we going to meet up in? :greengrinMost of the pubs are tiny but a few have terraces or beer gardens. 20 years ago they were full of British squaddies , decoration hasn`t changed but now almost no British military so depend on tourists so more for eating than heavy drinking . Been in lots of the pubs there but couldn`t really recommend one in particular - Gunner behind Marks and Spencer is friendly with good food but didn`t take Scottish money (warning - make sure you don`t leave with Gib pounds which won`t be accepted in Scotland ) . Bars in Casemates Square ( first square before Main Street ) has several bars with big terraces so would be an easy meeting place . Just 5 minutes walk from stadium is Ocean Village where there are a few modern bars with lots of TV screens etc but probably more expensive than more typical Gibraltar pubs If going with family , there`s a bowling alley with bar and restaurant and dolphin tours (take about 2 hours ) leave from Ocean Village . Even if not looking for culture , taxi tour of rock ( theatre in rock , monkeys , tunnels , views of Africa etc ) is worth it - pricey but worth it if in a group . Lots of shopping - M and Spencers closes at 7 pm , not sure about other shops . Scottish - owned chain Silver Shops is very popular ( saying this for folk dragging family to Gib for match during family holiday ) .

Where's the Forest game being played? It says venue TBC on the fishy site.Vilareal de San Antonio , in Portugal just over border . Photo on Forest site makes it look like athletics stadium . Doubt there`ll be tickets as stadium will be nearly empty . From Portuguese side there are trains ( but not after match so late perhaps ? ) but from Spain it`s a motorway where hefty toll was introduced from border ( I think ) a couple of years ago - hefty enough ( about 50€ ? to make people cross border 50 km further north to avoid it . Not sure if there is a way of going to Vilareal by car ( ferry from Ayamonte in Spain still exists ) without toll .

I've never been to their new stadium but it looks quite strange. Are you not just as well climbing that huge hill? It looks like you'd get some view.

Tickets for the Gibraltar game £8 or £10, apparently the Hibs end is £8 (cheeky monkeys). :faf:http://footballgibraltar.wordpress.com/2013/06/25/gibraltar-xi-vs-hibernian-ticket-information-released/ You should be able to buy tickets at the stadium, I say stadium but it's more of a stand, resembles something the **** will be playing in when Tesco buys ***********. There is a bar built below the stand that will be selling tickets. Might also be a good place to meet for a pre match pint, but be warned the locals are a bit hairy! :faf: Anyone who knows Gib should appreciate my ape related jibes.
I'm well excited, haven't seen the cabbage in the flesh since moving to Southern Spain 10 years ago, been working in Gib for the last 6 years so was over the moon when I heard of this fixture. Anyone fancying a pint before kick off give me a shout, don't finish work till 7pm but only round the corner as most things are in Gibraltar.
