Anyone else think the stadium announcer was a bit quick of the mark playing this after the Dundee game? IF we pull this off I really hope the Hampden announcer holds it back for at least 10-15 minutes.

I don`t want to feel like we`re getting ahead of ourselves but this is the mob that do the announcing at Hampden http://www.woosh.tv/
Maybe a few emails to let them know our thoughts would help.

On Saturday I thought it was too cheesy having the Allez Allez Allez ooh chant pumped through the PA system, trying to hard to artificially raise the atmosphere and agree with the quickness of SoL and likewise at the semi putting it on beforehand

Do they not usually wait until after the cup has been lifted before playing the team's songs?

Like for example, at the CIS Cup Final in 2007, they played Chelsea Dagger etc before the team lifted the cup and played Hibs songs after the cup had been lifted.

But anyway, we've still got a massive task ahead of us on Sunday before we can begin to even think about celebrating...

All talk of any winning the cup and any events surrounding should be banned until the ending of the game!

He put SOL on early so it was finished by the time the players came back out. It made sense on Saturday

That'll do. GGTTH, Chelsea Dagger, 500 Miles. Then Hibs lift the cup. Then SoL.

I'm excited already. We can't lose. :greengrin

I'm sure in the final last year they play SOL when the teams were warming up or was it Glory Glory?

Thought it wasn't the best time to play it Saturday - you can't win on these things though.

Why?

I think last year proved once and for all that any superstition, omen, jinx or other such nonsense is exactly that, nonsense.

I think your right - was about 15 mins before kick off.

Was it the Falkirk semi they played SOL before ? Or am I going mad :greengrin

As long as I only hear it once all day. It was done to death by 3pm last year. If we hear it once and once only on Sunday, after full time, we'll know all's gone well.

You're right.

They played SOL for Hibs fans before playing Is This The Way To Amarillo for the Falkirk supporters.

Agreed. SOL pre match against Falkirk was fairly poor IMO as people were still filling into the stadium. Has to be after the match IF we can do the unthinkable

Truth be told I was ****ing bored of SOL last year, must have heard it 15 times by kick off.

Keep it for after the game, it's a special song so don't tear the erse out it.

Why does everything have to be orchestrated these days? What ever happened to an atmosphere building naturally and spontaneously? Just turn up and sing for the entire match (and before and after) and enjoy the day.

Totally agree with that, it seemed timed to perfection in 2007...... Even though it was bloody freezing
