I'm talking players who were linked at various points over their careers but never actually signed. To kick off with a few:-

Jackie McNamara Jnr - linked when a young player at Dunfermline in early 90s, linked before he signed for Aberdeen in 2007 and again when he left in 2008.

Craig Dargo - linked when he played for Raith in late 90s, again when he was at Killie in the early 2000s and again when he left ICT around 2006/2007.

Eion Jess - Linked a few times when McLeish was manager.

Probably loads of others.

Don't think that's what happened . We made a bid when he was at Crewe . we never agreed a fee and also Platt didn't fancy the move and eventually got a move Villa - the rest is history .

Iirc the fee was £400,000 and hibs wouldn't pay it. God how they must have regretted that decision.

Hibs had offered something like £150k and the deal was more or less agreed, then Villa gazumped is with a £200k bid which was accepted by Crewe (and suited Platt better anyway).
