16 May ~ A Yeovil Town fan has been told he must pay £1,500 to display his banner before the League One play-off final against Brentford at Wembley on Sunday. Dan Cabell wanted to show off his "Little Old Yeovil" banner but because it would be passed over supporters' heads he was told an event organisation company would need to supervise its movement. An FA spokesman said: "The cost is in place for a contractor that we have an existing relationship with. They have to bring in a team of eight people to ensure the flag is manoeuvred safely over the heads of fans in the stadium. The cost is to bring in extra man power."

What an absolute joke that is... £1500 for something that probably cost £50 to make...

Nah - all in the name of squeezing the last drop of cash out of supporters to pay for the enormous interest on the debt borrowed to rebuild Wembley.

Utterly ludicrous tho'.

That will be reversed once the English press show it for what it is, and the bureaucrat that came up with that should be fired - no questions asked. What is the world of football coming to ?

The SFA have actually come out quite well in comparison to recent events at Wembley in terms of the cup final pricing, the assistance for banners/Sect43 display and the percentage of available seats allocated to the finalists. Championship play off prices are as below....!

Cat 1 - £98 Adults & £49 Concession (under 16 and over 65)
Cat 2 - £76 Adults & £38 Concessions (under 16 and over 65)
Cat 3 - £64 Adults & £32 Concessions (under 16 and over 65)
Cat 4 - £52 Adults & £26 Concessions (under 16 and over 65)
Cat 5 - £36 Adults & £18 Concessions (under 16 and over 65)

Typical Wembley greed along with the £5 pint of watered down lager in a plastic cup.

Health and safety? :greengrin

Maybe they should start charging people for bringing scarfs into the game?

There's always a chance somebody may choke themselves if they rap it around their neck too tight.

Unbelievable! This is the sort of attitude which will only encourage football fans to ignore the authorities and just try and sneak things under the radar rather than try to cooperate with them.

The lunatics have well and truly taken over the asylum!
