Full squad available according to the BBC Sport website. I'd go with Williams; Clancy, McPake, Hanlon, McGivern; Harris, Taiwo, Claros, Thomson, Doyle; Griffiths. Get Doyle and Harris pressing up on the defence because we saw what happened the last time we pressed on the defence (especially Sissoko). Predicting us to get a win today and stop the rot in the league which would be perfect before the derby. 3-1 Hibs - Griffiths (2) and McGivern. GGTTH! :agree:

With apparently a full squad available, and Taiwo and Claros not involved. It seems to me like Pats made his mind up about those two for the final and just giving them a little rest. Wont be surprised to see this happen with a couple other over the next couple of weeks.

Looks to me like he's trying to give everyone a bit of game time before the Final, so that, in the event they do get called into the squad, they've all had recent action.

Handling and Griffiths up front will be interesting as well, particularly since that means we have Done and Harris in the wide areas - two natural wingers.

For me, I don't think there's much we don't know about Deegan any more. If he can hold his passing together, he's a decent, tenacious and aggressive midfielder. However, if he continues his Ross Chisolm-esq form of never finding his own man with a pass and getting caught in possession, then he'll get hooked at half time.

My point is that, bar 1 goal which I could have scored, he has accomplished next to nothing in his spell thus far. Maybe Pat's planing on signing him permanently hence his run out today, but I would much rather we gave game time to our players who have little recent practice or are out of form. IE, Robertson, Cairney or a youngster.

Harris looks excellent. Such a clever player.

We need to get an experienced bit of quality in the summer to help a few of the young boys. Playing in an average team does no one any favours, look at Booth's development. If we can get Thomson signed up and another 1 or 2 of that type of player (maybe 32/33 year old) thing we may have the basis of a good team next year

You're the only one saying he's not playing well so why dot you tell us everything he's done wrong?

His general lack of a footballing brain is the biggest problem. He's picked up the ball in a lot of space on a number of occasions, and ran at the fullback. When I say at the fullback, I mean straight into him.

Just because he's touched the ball a lot, doesn't mean he's actually doing anything with it.

Put it this way, if Harris was getting as much freedom as Done, we'd probably be leading.

After this game Deegan might as well pack his bags.

When he is not making woeful, unintelligent passes he is getting booked for lazy and poor tackling. Is he stupid, he has just watched Cling-on hit the bar and chooses to give him another bite. Tool. He's exactly the type of player we don't need for so many footballing reasons.

Harris has lost the ball almost every time he has had it. Done has put in two cracking balls. Just point that out to show that its quite interesting people see things that they want with players.

SaulGoodman
05-05-2013, 02:49 PM
You are wasting your time, he's one of the scapegoats that has to be criticised when things are not going our way, irrespective if he's doing well or not? We have a team who are not world beaters, apart from Harris who is playing well?

:agree: Tin hat on but Done had done more than Griffiths first half, of course Griffiths avoids the abuse and Done being a scapegoat gets it all.

We did see a proper classic McPake tackle in the first half. I just wish we could see that throughout the game. He used to be decisive and only had one objective, to keep the ball away from that box. He seems to be thinking too much and erring over decisions and it's costing us goal after goal. Needs sorted before the Final.

They had to take the collapsed fan to the side of the pitch for treatment so it's distracting for the players and not somewhere you want a rogue ball going.

Very much hope the fan makes a full recovery. Heard background shouting of help not too far into the 2nd half so I think it's been going on for a while.

It surprises me this doesn't happen more often. When you look at the health of the average football fan, the diet of pints, pies, burgers coupled with the stress of watching what passes for entertainment on the pitch. Multiplied by the thousands that watch week in, week out, it really should, statistically, be happening more often. Anyone that works for large supermarkets, shopping centres and places like train/bus stations will testify to the fact that there are more occurences of people taken ill more often than some would expect.
Hope the guy pulls through, best place to take a dive with all the medical support available.

There's nothing more you can do but there's also no way they should play on. No-one questioned the decision to abandon the spurs bolton game after muamba's cardiac arrest so there's no difference here! I imagine that seeing an incident of this kind is traumatic for everyone there and a paltry football game (and yes even its effects on our scottish cup) are completely irrelevant.
