View Full Version : If Griffiths gets another goal this season..........

.............he will have scored more goals in a single season than any other Hibernian striker in the last 30 years.

Steve Cowan has the best total on 27 for season 85/86. Riordan's best season was 23. Stokes got 23. O'Connor's was 19. Don't think Keith Wright ever got 20? Steve Archibald - 19-ish?

Would be great if he could get another three and hit the 30 mark. That would be some return.

Would bite your hand off for him only scoring one more (the winner in the cup final!) though.

That will be an extraordinary achievement considering the overall team performance. Without a doubt the best striker we've had in my lifetime.

I think he could do a lot worse and stay here a couple of more years and if he keeps his head down he will be rewarded with the big contract like Fletcher. I still think its a long shot he will be here next season though.

dont think it would harm his career to stay at Hibs for another year or two, financially probably but not in a playing sense

According to this he'll be highest scorer since Joe Baker in 59/60!! If he gets 1 more that is.

Is that league goals? Both Jimmy O'Rourke and Alan Gordon scored 30+ in 72/73 in all competitions.

When you think about these stats, do people normally factor in the number of games played? For example, I really like Messi, but his unbelievable goals tally last season (which beat Muller's record) was achieved over more games than Muller played in his record-breaking season. Is it fair to compare like for like, as people often do? Or should number of games be factored in? Just throwing the thought out there.

To play the amount if games that messi and the likes do now is worthy of praise in itself.

Mon Leigh, keep banging them in.

Pretty sure it was widely reported around July12, in press etc that Wolves were willing to let LG join us for 150K. The same fee that they had paid Dundee for LG but we decided to wait and see (surprise, surprise).

Does he not like Harper?!!! I seem to remember some scalding invective right enough. I guess not all footballers can be nice blokes.
