BBC have agreed a deal for highlights, internet and radio coverage. No mention of the figures involved. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22380837

Was/Is it not the case that Hansen was getting more for match of the day than Scottish foootball was per year?

I would guess that's because the figures involved are pish.

I'm pretty disappointed with this news, the standard of commentators/pundits (with the exception of Pat Nevin) are awful and sportscene is garbage. Hopefully they increase their budget a bit and get back to showing highlights on a saturday night again although i know with match of the day being on then there's no chance of that.

The main reason they don't have a Saturday night programme is that matches are rarely all played on a Saturday and it would be hard to pad out a programme with 3 games. I wish this was the only tv coverage though with no live matches.

That really needs to be done pronto to increase the coverage of Scottish football in our own country. To have the prime highlight slot covering a league from another country is complete nonsense and BBC should be hugely ashamed that this is the case.

Thought this was quite a perceptive take on how much the Beeb is letting us all down ...

:agree:

I've got no interest in watching the highlights from a foreign country, unfortunately i think we are in the minority on that one. It'll never change though as long as we keep promoting a foreign league more than we do our own game.

Must admit I never watch MoTD so that is it up to 3!

I hope this means they'll have every game available to listen to online again. Trying to get updated from open all mics with their gash banter is worse than nothing at all.
