Simply don't agree with that statement, it was prevalent back then and Gerry McNee commentating on a game against the huns at ER when we won still makes my blood boil, they really wouldn't get away with that kind of commentary nowadays but of course sly digs are rife.

Incredibly emotional scenes from the hands of hibs campaign. Absolutely amazing how the hibs fans rallied and fought for the club. Mercer had no clue as to what he let himself in for, the fans of this club were never gonna let him have the club. Im too young to have been around at that time but my old man still tells the story of the rally at easter road and how emotional it was. RIP Joe Baker, that scene of him kissing the turf is truly special.
