Pretty good performance all round,( Rosco managed to put one over the bar and out the ground ) but apart from that miss had a good game. Hearts supporting brother of mine was impressed.
Maybury strolled thru the game and Spoony was a class above.

Anyone tell me how young Beaton played ( if he got on) ?
Comes from the N.E ( Aberdeen) and was highly thought of when he came down a year or so ago .
Have only seen him a couple of times but looks a confident lad on the ball .
Thank You

The number 11 for Hibs looked not to bad think his names Todd. Pretty direct and willing to take on his man. I don't understand why the 1st team and the young team don't play the same formation to make it easier for them to progress into the senior squad.
Thanks for the heads up Billy where do you get the fixture information would be nice to take my wee boy along to a few more games to get him used to watching the games before he attends Easter Road with his season ticket next season.

Who is Martynuik? Don't see his name on the Hibs website!
Great result for the youngsters once again!
Is that now five goals in five consecutive U-20s fixtures for young Jay Doyle?

He was on the bench tonight. Still a young lad who scored the other week for the U20's.

He's a young 17 year old Edinburgh lad. Has Ukranian roots. Callum Crane is another who is only 16 year old. Comes from that great footballing village of Ratho :greengrin

Neil Martynuik, only 16 i think, 17 this year. Couple of years below me at school. Agile and very composed on the ball. Glad to hear Maybury and Spoony played well, wouldn't expect anything else from them in an U20s game, no disrespect to them.

Thought Todd did really well tonight, he looks strong as he drives forward. Fixtures are on the club's website as well as on the SPL official website.
Five in four now for Jay.
Even better. :hibees There will still be a 'Doyle' in and around the squad next season!
Thanks, Billy. :aok:

Is it common for SPL u20 sides to field such young teams, or is this something more unique of Hibs (perhaps some getting promoted earlier due to Handling/Caldwell/Harris being involved in the first team?)
Also, why are Handling, Harris and Caldwell never involved in the Scotland u19s? Seems a strange one.

We've got a few of the older players out on loan, at Arbroath, Annan,Dumbarton and Eaat Fife I think, and Harris and Handling are playing at 1st team level now.

If you are good enough you are old enough. Dundee Utd have nippers in the first team.

To be fair the Scotland u19s team is pretty strong in midfield/attack, with a few boys impressing at first team level or down south with Chelsea/Everton. Think Harris would have a fair shout for inclusion, but still not convinced by Handling or Caldwell.

Jamie's from Gilmerton, used to go to school with him from p1 to last year, definitely not from Aberdeen.
