Why is it on a Sunday this year?

So it's not on the same day as Champions League final

Why is it on a Sunday this year?

Because UEFA won't allow it to be held on the same day as the Champions League final (which is being held on Saturday 25th May) and that was the only weekend we could hold it on.

It's a new ruling that UEFA's brought in.

It's a bank holiday anyways so shouldn't be a problem for most people.

Schools aren't closed on the Monday though!

Currently I'm supposed to be working on the 26th May. I've been trying to get a holiday for it since January!

I might not be there.

Aye, right!

Why is it on a Sunday this year?

Because I've got a wedding to attend on the Saturday and couldn't do both?

Or some pish about the Champions League final. Either way, it's an absolute god send of a date change for me personally.

I hate the way that the oldest cup competition in world football is shunted aside by uefa

Think mcpake griffiths cairney thomson and maybe 1 or 2 more should be rested with about 3 weeks to go.

Who is the home team?

Is it us as we're the 1st ones into the final?

If we're playing Celtic I would prefer us to be wearing Green and White.

The only explanation for this ridiculous decision can be that it enables the SFA suits and their counterparts across Europe to enjoy a free beano at the Champions League Final.
I say we should just have ignored the request and cracked on with our traditional date, and if the faceless blazers would rather attend the Champions League Final then so be it, not as if they will be missed.
The oldest Cup competition in the world, and one that will be around long after The Champions League has bit the dust, deserves more respect.

Wanyamma is out if its celtic. I think we should wear the yellow kit for the final.

If Utd play like this theyd have to be fav to beat us.

Also at a wedding, over in Belfast and staying until the Monday, any tips on decent pub to watch it, gutted to miss it but will be as happy as anyone if we do it.

Some Jambos overby are suggesting that they should cripple Griffiths in the Derby match.
Most professionals wouldn't dream of doing that to a fellow player but with the twisted Jambos, is it ....... nah, surely not. I agree it would be a good idea to rest some players however.

It's the 150th year of the FA which is a big deal for both Uefa and Fifa hence it's back at Wembley so soon after the last time. All the SFA top brass would have to attend so for one year only the Scottish cup is moved to the Sundayy.

150 years of the FA is no big deal for us. A nonsense to change the date. Officials could attend whatever game they like, be that either Wembley or Hampden.

Don't think "home" status will influence strips...us and Celtic both wore away strips last year due to clash!

Hibs should definitely rest a bunch of players for that match.. It may be the biggest game on the Yams calendar but we've more important business on 26 May.

We should rest them all between now and the final. Give them a week off and send them off to the sunshine for a break.

True, injuries to key players would be a nightmare but we also need to give folk game time to keep the match fitness up. Everyone will be fighting for a cup final place so will be eager to impress.

Coz apparently nothing is allowed to clash with UEFA's precious Champions League final.

Yet another example of why they are so out of touch with ordinary fans all over Europe 90% of whom will never have a chance of seeing their club get anywhere near their rich mans junket.

The so called Champions League can GTF I'd rather watch the Ramsdens cup final any old day.

Ach ... perhaps I'm being too cynical I'm sure that this year will be different and we will get a surprise.

Lets think:

Barcelona
Real Madrid
Borussia Dortmund
Bayern Munich

Aye .... its good to see that UEFA's seeding system is working perfectly.
