Well my guess is the wind got up a wee bit, and blew the boards across the pitch. That resulted in a couple of the players being hit by the flying hoardings.

Its only a guess though.

I used to live in South Africa a few years ago and you always knew when a heavy rainstorm was due, the wind would always pick up sometimes enough to knock people off their feet. It's just coming into autumn down there so there will still be heavy rainstorms with high winds prior.
