View Full Version : Conspiracy Theory

As we are almost mathematically out of the top 6 equation my mate has come up with a conspiracy theory. He says the last Derby is a cert to be scheduled on the last weekend of the season 18/19th May. He originally said it would be the 19th but I told him the bottom 6 play on the Saturday. He said it will probably be the only interesting game that will be left after the split and this gives Yams, TV and papers the excuse to ramp it up. He is also a Hibee.

I said that surely they wouldn't deliberately schedule a game because of something like that, to which he replied "Like the old firm can't play a league game in case one of them wins the title".

That was my biggest concern if a cup final was looming.

If I am honest I can see pat resting a few ie Leigh/Jorge cos you know that's what will happen. We don't want to get beat but is it worth the risk.

We should field the whole youth team IMO.

Yes but we are hibs, they won't play by our rules and I wouldn't trust them to not try to put Leigh or Jorge out of the final. (Provided we are in it of course)

We should field the whole youth team IMO.

We should play our main 11 against Hearts and save the youth team for the big game IMO.

Is there a chance we could get the derby at ER if we're, in all probablility, bottom 6?

No chance of that happening. The derbies will always be split equally and it’s the other games that will have a 3-1 or 1-3 split instead.

If we win the semi and are to play Celtic in the final and this happens, I'd play our usual 11 and stuff it right up them. If we beat Celtic it's more about them having an off day as opposed to us.

If we win the semi and get Dundee United - I would play a reserve team. The cup is more important than them.

I think it would be better to go for it for both. You can't predict or second guess the future, ever, and besides, we should be adopting an attitude of GIRFU both of them, not playing like our team often do and try to avoid defeat rather than go for it and win. Imho

7 chicken dinners is a lot.
