half that if your a rapist- and probably equivalent for murder.

Man is a loon but that seems harsh going by todays sentencing guidelines.

Not really, there were several different charges, all with custodial sentences attached.

I don't know the list of charges but if he's been pretending to be a lawyer he's fooled the courts and betrayed his clients expectation of the law professional.

For the benefit of those of us who were too young to remember, how was this exactly? :hilarious

Wasn't this trumpet being linked with a takeover of Rangers before they went pop?

I've no sympathy for the guy - linked to allegations of fraud and matchfixing in Serbia, almost obliterated Dundee FC (to this day I'm amazed they only endured administration considering the debts they amassed under his stewardship, £23m) and a long line of dodgy business dealings, financial fraud, misrepresentation and false declaration of qualifications.

He's one of many examples of directors of football boards who should have been launched out by the SPL before they nearly destroyed the respective clubs through gross mismanagement/negligence which resulted in near financial ruin - Craig Whyte and Angelo Massone are two others who fall into this category.

There was a story going about that Di Stefano - when visiting Hussein in prison - got him watching SPL as Saddam was into football and obviously Di Stefano had previous with Dundee. The story goes Saddam liked watching the SPL and Di Stefano said he liked to watch Hibs in particular play :greengrin Saddam = one of our own :agree:

Even though it actually does as you serve your sentence for your entire life and can be recalled to prison at any time...

Yes, once released from a mandatory life sentence you are under a life licence.

Don't forget ' Perverting the course of justice' was included in the charges and that in itself is a very serious charge

Still think 14 years is very harsh indeed.

Romanov would get twice the sentence for his crimes.
