Looks like they're making a film about Reading legend Robin Friday. The book is well worth a read - the foreword by Irvine Welsh includes a comment about George Best finally realising his potential by gracing the green and white of Hibernian.

Book was a great read, had never heard of him to be honest until l heard book being talked about on the radio.

Would definitely go and see the film.

Even today, the latest edition of popular football magazine FourFourTwo mentions
Friday on its front page among players dubbed "The Unmanageables". There is talk
of Friday "turning up drunk to training carrying a swan..." :tee hee:

I knew about it before I read the book, but IIRC it is in there.

Got sent off for kicking Lawrenson in the coupon. Whilst the game continued, he broke into Lawrenson's dressing room and did a solid in his kitbag.

My friends dad saw him play and says he is the best player he has ever seen. Really enjoyed the book when I read it, bloke was totally off his rocker.
