Ex Yam youth player who we were linked with a season or so back is having a mare for Stevenage today. Scored an og, been booked (11th of season!) & given a goal away! Can't believe we missed out on him! :grr:

Similar to Danny Galbraith. Think Yams got £50k for him when he went as a 16yo to Man U.

Think it's time to Draw The Line with this one. The lad played today like he was living Life in Slow Motion today but It's a New Day at Midnight.

Not sure if Stevenagr will want to Sell Sell Sell anyway.

I know he made a mistake for the third goal however thought he looked composed and one of the few players looking to pass the ball on the beach of a pitch,

David is a good player who has just been unlucky with injuries. Man Utd thought highly enough of him to offer him a contract extension which he refused because he wanted guaranteed first team football - so he moved to Preston.

Hibs did offer him a contract but he refused. Think he enjoys life down south.

Wonder if this one would be considered cheap dross that the club rushed to announce as Stubbs' first signing?

Seriously though, can you think of a signing that had a bigger impact than Sir David Gray?

No. In a few years he’ll get the status he deserves, not to say we don’t appreciate him now. I think we should just enjoy watching him while we can. David Gray - legend.

I'm with JimBhibees on this one, we should sign the guy as cover, he probably can't header a ball but can't be any worse than Kujabi.

Truly excellent! I had completely forgotten it (probably a deep psychosis thing!). I've always prided myself on spotting a good player having a bad game & vice versa. May have to revise my own self opinion! TBF though I only commented factually on SDG's performance in that game & fortunately other more esteemed posters put my offering in the shade. :agree:
As a follow up, maybe you can find the thread where Stubbsy signed SDG? :greengrin

Sometimes good players have bad games.

Sometimes good players look bad in a bad team.

Sometimes good players look bad in bad conditions.

Sometimes good posters make bad judgements. :greengrin

Seriously? I thought he was p!sh from start to finish.

Honestly, when the SDG statue goes up outside ER, this should be inscribed on the base as a warning to future generations.

That having a negative opinion or making a negative prediction about a player before he signs obviously has no correlation to his performances on the pitch so people should stop getting themselves worked into a frenzy every time someone does it.

I got something wrong once myself, can't remember what it was for sure but think it might have been when we signed Rowan Vine or Kuqi or appointed Butcher or Calder wood, or was it thinking the Scottish cup was in the bag when we swapped Ian Munro for Ally Scott and Graham Fyfe?
