I know we dont know how many will be in the League/ or how the split will work, but I thought we would at least have had a start for the new SPL season 2013/2014.
Still nothing on the SPL website

The start won't be announced until after the vote. We don't even know who the governing body will be. Or what the set will be.

SPL chiefs have announced next season will kick off on August 3 despite uncertainty lingering over the structure of the game north of the border.

SPL clubs are due to vote on reform proposals on April 15 which would see the body merge with the Scottish Football League.

But the league confirmed next season's start date in a short statement, which also revealed Celtic would again postpone an early fixture in order to play a friendly.

The statement read: "The SPL board today announced that season 2013/14 will start on Saturday August 3.

"At a recent meeting, the board also agreed to allow clubs the option to request a postponement of their SPL fixture to play a friendly on the weekend of August 10.

"The only club to submit a request was Celtic FC."

Why is this allowed to keep happening? I thought the first year was because clubs already had the games arranged, but Septic keep doing it. Surely there should be some consideration for their week two opponents who will be faced with an additional and unnecessary midweek game later in the season.

Why are friendlies being played after the start of the season? Total madness

The only reason to keep doing it now is to pander to Celtic's money making jaunts around the world. Utter stupidity.
