John McGlynn coaching #Scotland (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Scotland&src=hash) U19s alongside Ricky Sbragia ahead of #Sweden (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Sweden&src=hash) game. Asked to help out by @MarkWotte (https://twitter.com/MarkWotte). #TartanArmy (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23TartanArmy&src=hash) #HMFC (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23HMFC&src=hash)

Wonder if John Collins was asked/offered anything like this. Out of work at same time, national team stalwart, more success as manager and experience abroad.

I often think Collins would be an excellent National team manager. Good tactically and no requirement to deal with agents and in the transfer market, which was his biggest weakness.

I still wonder if director or the academy would not suit him better, given that the younger players during his time as manager seemed to respond pretty well to what he was preaching? There is a lot he can offer in a role that doesn't require him to directly massage the ego of Mikey Stewart, Rob Jones and the likes... :agree:

I think when the Succulent Yam says 'coaching' he means just that.

He'll be the their ****ing bus driver.

JC would be ideal to have in the Scottish National side set up if people were prepared to give his methods some time to produce results, however the problem with the majority involved in football in the UK is that if something doesn't work immediately, it gets binned.
