Just had a ****ing dog chase me on my way back from work, the owner claimed "he's just trying to say hello" I felt like saying "then why the ****s he barking at me?"

when your dog jumps up at me or my kids or runs at me, i don't need you to say any of the following-
"he's really friendly"
"he won't bite"
"he likes you"
"he wants to play"
"he loves kids"
i don't own a dog because i ****ing despise them. i don't want your smelly ****ing canine getting it's hairs, fleas or ***** on me. please understand that if it jumps at me, i will feel an overwhelming urge to kick the ****er in the ****ing jaw.

yeezus.

I got my second Staffie at the end of January. Both of them are really friendly - but still want to go up to people when I let them off the leads - people always brick it and I can understand why.

I'll need to remember not to use those lines if they start following someone!

Just read the new 'park rules' pamphlet on Edinburgh.gov.uk,,, apparently dogs have to be under close control whilst within Edinburgh parks, yer right, how will the owners exercise their dogs by throwing and retreiving balls whilst being under close control AT ALL TIMES?

If it chased you then you must have ran away.

Where's your backbone - "these colours don't run" you should have shouted whilst doing some pavement dancing, let it know whose boss.

I do need a snuggle, I'm all frail and it doesn't help when I told the missus she laughed.

I've got a bullmastiff that's just under 60kg and folk seem to be scared enough when he's on the lead so I only let him off where there's absolutely no-one around other than other dog owners.
FWIW, with some of the bellends I seem to meet (even when he's on his lead) I can categorically state that I'm more likely to attack than the dug is :greengrin

I'm not a fan of dogs either and in the situation you describe I think it's fair game for you to boot the dog as hard as is possible. And repeat until it stops running at you. Especially if there's kids around.

If the owner doesn't like it then they should keep the dog on a lead like the majority of dog owners do.

Does that mean next time random kids run up and pull my dogs tail and grab his ears it's fair game for him to bite them if he's a bit annoyed?

If their parents don't like it they should keep their kids under control like most parents do.

I have no problem what so ever with dogs, it's some of their owners that need to be kept on a leash. I have had dealings with a couple of ignorant lazy couldn't care less tossers recently that really piss me off. Thankfully they are few and far between and the majority of dog owners I know are as well behaved as their dogs :greengrin

No, but its fair game to tell the parents exactly what you think of them. And yeah, if the parents don't like it they should keep their kids under control.

Difference is humans are more important than dogs, especially in areas where dogs should be kept on a lead.

I prefer goldfish and you wouldn't believe the prejudice I have to put up with when I'm walking him.

I wrote this on the Bounce a few weeks ago when they were having a doggie love in

I don’t like dogs – that’s I don’t like dogs – not I’m scared of dogs, I don’t like dogs. I wasn’t bitten or mauled when I was a youngster, no near things either – I JUST DON’T LIKE DOGS.

‘Would you get that dog away from me please’

‘Awe, its just being friendly’

‘I don’t like dogs’

‘Awe, you scared of the dog?’

‘No, not scared, I don’t like dogs’

‘But Poochie woochie likes you’

‘Please take the dog away, I don’t like dogs.’

‘Big man is scared of pretty wee poochie woochie, give him you paw.’

‘**** off before I kick that ****ing bitch into next week.’

‘Don’t talk to me like that, it was just being friendly.’

‘I was talking to the dog.’

:greengrin

Some dog owners just cant get it into their thick heids that there are others WHO DON’T LIKE DOGS

When I was a kid - in the 60s - I had a cat called Sid who used to follow me everywhere. He was always about 50 yards behind me.

Its a tragedy and I feel for the family.

However it was out of control dogs. Not devil dogs. Lets not start with the autopilot switched on and our judgement clouded. We don't know the facts or the complete circumstances behind this.

I'm not a fan of dogs either, I won't turn into an erse when one comes near me though, dogs are naturally curious and I respect their traits and behaviour and don't hold it against them.

Out of all the dogs I've had contact with, the friendliest, nicest, complete sweetheart animals were staffies. Not just saying that to get a reaction, it's true, and by some distance aswell. Worst was a toy poodle, wee f***er. In saying that, any dog, ANY dog, has the potential to just snap and attack, no matter how well behaved it usually is, no matter how good the owner is, any dog can turn, just the same as any human.
