The 18-year-old Manchester United supporter was watching at home in a village near Bingham, Nottinghamshire.
Just thought I'd get in there first.

An amoeba just called the cops to complain about your comparison. ;-)

That was me, and I have to say the polis are a disgrace - didn't take me seriously at all. Small wonder society is disintegrating when the forces of law and order stand back as a Turkish criminal commits daylight robbery

Funny thing is, I don't think it was done as a laugh, the boy was probably being deadly serious :tee hee:

Read this yesterday.

Although on the face of it people will have a bit of a laugh and a joke about this one, he's extremely lucky not to be facing criminal charges.

I cannot believe that people think it's remotely acceptable to abuse the 999 system.

Tube.

I don't think this is the same thing as people that call an ambo because they've got sun burn though.

Why not?

It's a criminal offence to misuse the 999 service. It doesn't matter if you're trying to have a laugh or you're actually being serious. If you deliberately call 999 and you're not reporting a genuine emergency then you should be prosecuted.

I just hope no-one has died or been seriously injured as a result of not being able to get through quickly enough when this guy was phoning up the other night.

To be fair to the lad from the report it doesnt sound as if it was done in a malicious way more just the fact he is abit daft.

It's for the operator to decide if it's an emergency. How many people call up thinking they need hospital, when it's only something minor?
