With an 18 point deduction looking more and more likely, those of us who invested a shekel or two in Hearts finishing bottom earlier in the season could be about to get a bit of sport from their bet. If they see out the season that is

They're currently 15 points ahead of Dundee, but it doesn't take a Lithuanian accounts fiddler to work out that the 18 point deduction will see them plummet to the bottom of the table, 3 points adrift of high flying Dundee.

The image of Hearts going to Dens Park on the last day of the season, just having to avoid defeat, is one I just can't shake off :hilarious

So...... let's be having you. Who's got a few quid on them?

I've got £12 at 100/1 and if it comes in it's coming to Vegas with me :smokin

£15 @ 100/1 with Bet365 for moi. Placed on the assumption that they were going to go POP at some point.

Certainly getting a run for my money.

I would have gone higher but Paddy Power limited it. They were 3rd or 4th when I placed it I think, just when they missed their first salary payment this season.

We checked... The bet is voided if they disappear and don't finish the season... So don't worry, you'll get your £20 back :greengrin

£10 @ 100/1 :greengrin I thought there was a decent chance of them going in to administration this season and I wasn't going to miss a tenner so thought it was worth a punt. Should hopefully get a run for my money between now and the end of the season :aok:

Without checking, highly unlikely for the SPL as Dundee are so far adrift.

But the value is in the fact that they could go into admin and recieve an 18 point deduction putting them on level points with Dundee.

You'd still have to fancy Hearts to get more points between now and the end of the season than Dundee. Also, I really don't think anyone apart from people on the Hibs forums thinks they're going into admin. That's why hardly anyone media is reporting on it, apart from STV who never even said it's likely, just that it's possible.

I think hearts will get a points deduction for admin but they'll still win the battle with Dundee. It's survival which seems to be their biggest problem

I'm not a betting expert but I know enough to realise that when bookies offer 'great odds' against something, it's highly unlikely to happen.

ive got dundee to go down, even with a points deduction, hertz will win more games than dee for the remainder of the season even if dee now have John 'no surrender' Brown as boss.

Don't forget that Dundee and St Mirrenn also have (I think 2) but at least 1 game in hand too :faf:

Edit: 2 games it is :faf:

Tonight's win for Dundee sends Hearts to the bottom of the table*...........

Dundee > 18pts
Hearts (-18) > 15pts

* Once the minus 18 is applied

What about the chap that had a bet on us to win 3-0 at Ibrox during Calderwood's reign at something like 900/1?

Now that was pretty great odds! :greengrin

Or Andy's 3-1 at well with spoony scoring. Never seen so many hibs fans gutted to get that last goal. Even Danny handling looked a bit sheepish.

Dundee 19 pts
Hearts 15 pts

Both played 30 games.

With Dundee's mini resurgance that 18 point deduction is looking more and more unpalatable :greengrin

Have you heard something or is this just based on the fact they lost today so you think they might go into admin?

It'll be interesting to see what the bookies do if Dundee are relegated this week. They could pay out and then find that Dundee have been replaced at the bottom of the league a few days later.
