Apologies if this topic has been covered elsewhere, but is all the income from both semi finals 'pooled' then all the income shared out equally amongst the 4 clubs taking part ?

Good news for us since ours will be the lower attendance of the two.

I think it gets split 5 ways. The 4 teams and the SFA all get a cut.

It will but I'd be amazed if there was a dramatic difference in the two attendances. Maybe 25k for ours and 30-35k for theirs.

Celtic have been averaging 43,000 at home this season. Do you really think the semi will attract 10,000 less than an average SPL home game for them ??

I would have thought Celtic v Utd would have near enough been a sell out!

Yes. They get nothing like the level of support in Cup games, even for semi-finals, that they do in the league.

Celtic v Hearts 2012 attendance:- 36,609. Hearts had a very large support. The defense rests, M'lud

You may now apologise :na na:

No chance. Only 24000 at league cup semi Celtic vs St Mirren. A trip to Hampden isnt really a big deal for Celtc fans.

Was about to say similar, sure Hearts only had about 7 or 8k at Hampdeb.

The other point still stands though that Celtic din't take big ctowds to Hampden for anything other than finals.

It woz you wot woz wrong. The merricks did not have a very large support, or even a large support given it was a semi-final!

Really? Even if the the Yams only had 7,000 (less than I thought but still about 20% of the attendance), that means there were only 29,000 Tic fans there, much less than the 43,000 they claim they get for every home game.

So, I still stick to my guns that there won't be a massive difference in attendances between the two games.

Isn't the bigger point here, that this won't be money that we have budgeted for? With TV revenue, the least we will get even if we lose is 500K. Could we use that to bring in an out of contract forward to help us up the league??

I think it was around 11000

Still really poor though. The final tickets should have been a 60/40 split in our favour.

Screw that. Give the 500k to Leigh and get him signed up for a few years.
And the yams only had 8k at their semi last year.

Celtic will probably sell around 25,000 and Dundee Utd about 10,000 so I think the prediction of around 35k is probably about right.

This is about the size of it. With the O,F the glory hunters work in reverse to the rest of Scottish Football.

As they are the only clubs who can win the League, the glory hunters buy season tickets and don't show at Hampden semis.

With other clubs, as the cups are our only chance of glory, the diehards buy the ST's and the glory hunters turn up at Hampden semis.

Apart from when they played us in the semi, Hearts have had some real stinkers attendance wise regarding semi finals..

Their glory hunting is based on turning up to see us get stuffed.
