Obviously Leigh will get the plaudits, and rightly so.

But how good was Claros today? Absolutely outstanding and coolness personified at times. Great footballer.

Doesn't get anywhere near enough credit. He makes the team tick. Robertson and Taiwo were also brilliant today but Claros really is a superb footballer.

Played really well even though he was on a yellow from early on in the game (keep your mouth shut in future!!)

After his cup final performance last season if you had told me that he would've had the impact he has had this season I would've recommended a visit to a doctor asap.

Great performance today and if it wasn't for Leigh he would've easily have been MOM.

:agree: We are starting to look like a very good football team, i'd also praise Wotherspoon and Done for driving forward with the ball at every opportunity. :top marks

Said exactly that at HT!

My only worry was that he had a (stupid) yellow card and one more wrong move could have left us with ten men! Thankfully, he controlled his tackling and emotions well and stayed on the pitch playing very well in the 2nd half too!

Great player who stood out in Wed nights game too IMO!

Humble pie for me after being critical of his midweek display.

Tremendous today, quarterback style passing. Same again next week please.

Excellent footballer, with a great footballing mind. A lot of players can be rightfully praised today, but Paddy got everything right too, from the initial set up and shape to the substitutions. He has been under some scrutiny for his tactics at times, but spot on today. :aok:

Any of the players booked today and booked in the semi will miss the final.

Anyways back to the thread topic. I thought Claros was sensational today. He reminds me a lot like Beuzelin. Composed tidy player that any team would love to have in their side. More of the same please Jorge, especially this Sunday.

Thought he was unlucky to be hooked in the final last year, was more to do with the incompetents he was trying to cover than his own performance IMHO.

Can't agree with that.

The final was definately his worst game for us.

However, the wee man has turned it around big style for us. Obviously taken a bit of time adjusting to the Scottish game, but he looks different class now he's playing in a settled side.

I'm assuming that the wee man's English has come on a ton if he was booked for dissent? :greengrin

Opinions eh, I disagree but you are entitled to your view, is it a coincidence that his performances have improved since the midfield has been tightened I think not....

Cairney, McPake and Claros are on a booking now and Done misses the semi (assuming only Claros and Done booked today).

Thought his reading of the game was excellent and his composed use of the ball helped us control the game for the most part.

Is it definitely 2 yellows = a suspension?

Really came on to his game. And living it in the toon. Was worrying about him last season. Cause he was gash. But that had a lot to do with him missin il his family.

Glory glory Jorge Claros!

Yes, we enter competition at Round 4. The extract is copied from SFA judicial process.

the following applies to players whose clubs enter the Scottish cup after round
3, the Scottish Football league cup after round 2, and all other Specified cup
competitions:
1.1.2.1 a player who is reported for two cautionable offences in the same
competition during a Season will automatically be suspended for one
match.

He was the heartbeat of the team today. Seemed to be everywhere, breaking up play, helping colleagues under pressure and starting moves. Never seemed under the slightest stress - a mark of true class.

I would have driven him back to his parent club after the cup final, however, he has proven his class this season. More than happy to eat humble pie. Now please win it for us.

IMHO the best midfield performance by any Hibs player in 5 years. He was immense.

You can see why Oldco wanted him. A really, really talented player. Honestly think we have no hope of keeping him though.

Totally agree. Massive opinion u-turn on Claros from last season. Thought he was immense (again) today. Still think he runs like a girl but plays fitba in a simple and hugely effective way. Would be astounded and delighted if we hang on to him.

TBH I think he was booked for aggressively swatting Dayton's hand away when the wee freak wi' the beard was giving George the verbals. Ref booked Jorge but it didn't stop the Honduran from having an excellent 90 minutes :aok:

I thought last season that Claros had the potential to become a great player for us but after the cup final I could see him going the way of kujabi but so pleased that he's shown his class. Leigh will get all the headlines but Claros is an absolutely immense player who is so important to the running of the team. He really does control the tempo of the side and the number of tackles he makes is unbelievable. The kind of player I would love to see us build a team round but I fear wr won't keep him beyond this season
