Building Work

Problem number two. After getting the gas sorted I now have another problem. Sound like a right whigning get. There is building work getting done underneath my flat. I stay on the second floor and I think a shop is getting converted underneath me. Anyway I got a letter from the owner of the shop (which has lay empty for 5 years) saying that all was getting done is two windows where getting installed in the property. He never told me the whole place was getting smashed up inside and re-built. Now problem one is, the racket that the builders are making is crazy and the whole building is shaking like mad. They sound very close to coming through my floor. The second problem is, my flat is covered in dust all the time and am struggling to breathe. Basically I cant live in the flat

I was just wondering were I stand with all this? Going to speak to the owner in a few hours.

I would get on to your councillor and get him/her to contact Building Control or Planning on your behalf. At the very least you should get some sort of clarification as to what's happening. Do it through the councillor. If you phone Building Control yourself they'll not bother themselves.
