Do the top 4 get in to Europe this year? I only ask as I know we lost the 2nd champs league place but the league table on BBC site is split 1st, 2nd-4th then 12th...

Only 2nd and 3rd will get Europa League unfortunately:

There is 1 CL and 3 EL places up for grabs. That will be 1st CL and 2nd, 3rd and Scottish Cup winner/runner up* EL. The final EL place will go to the 4th placed team if the cup entrants are already in Europe.

Why is the league split like that on the BBC website? Because they couldn't give a toss about it.

(*I'm sure they tried to change this a while back, not sure if anything came of it. Something to do with having to have a cup entrant)

Im still confused about how the cup runner up us treated. If the cup winner is already in Europe via their league placing, does the runner up get in or does that only apply if the winner is in the Champions League?

Yeah its only if the winner has qualified for the champions league. Ross County missed out when they lost to dundee utd who finished 3rd. If a team qualified for the uefa cup wins it then the other place will go to 4th place
