England tie the series after McCullum set England a decent target in the first innings. Watched the highlights in a boozer in Carlisle, not sure how many wickets England won by, but, they won easily!

Haha not the most in depth report. They won by 8 wickets. Couple overs to spare too. Pretty sure the next ground has a 46 yard boundary. Should be plenty sixes

The test series will be a whitewash. Expect England to win all the tests convincingly. Good team England but South Africa are the best in the test match format. Been watching them on sky and even when in trouble, they find a way to win. Their pace attack is awesome

Haha! Yeah, just noticed my post from Wed, I was a bit the worse for wear, dinnae even remember posting it!

Another straightforward victory on Sat with a massive 12.5 overs to spare to clinch the series.

NZ 185 All Out
Eng 186-5

One-day and T20 are fun, but you only find out how good cricketers really are in Test Matches.

Lucky for England they have plenty time to turn the match and series around.

Poor performance on day two, wouldnae be surprised if the tourists manage to secure a draw though.

The nz test venues just look ideal for drinking beer on the grass banks and watching cricket.

Young Rutherford looked very solid on the second and third days; 235's a decent lead at this point, but having lost a day to rainI'd expect England to hold out for a draw.

Indeed. Last night about 1145 I heard a drunken Yorkshire voice singing "On Ilkley Moor Baht 'at" badly out oif tune.

They really need to keep Geoffrey out of the beer tent.

It's a lovely ground, though.

It was down to the potential for more play to be lost due to adverse weather that I thought it would end up being a draw. If no further time is lost then England are going to be struggling.

Pitch not helping at all. Barring a monumental collapse then its gonna be a draw.

Not exactly exciting, but, England have played in the proper manner for the situation they found themselves in, wouldnae be surprised if Trott is still at the crease at the end of the final day, the man hates to give his wicket away.

Mr Trott only made it to 50 odd, England are now on 367-3 with Finn in the fifties, I'm away to sleep to try and suss out how England made such a James Hunt of themselves in the first innings.

I suspect over-confidence. Jonathan Agnew may well have hit the nail on the head - certain England batsmen failed to respect their opponents, and once wickets start falling, it can be difficult to stop the rot. They certainly batted well in the second innings. It could be an interesting series oif both sides play to they capabilities.

Trott is the MOST boring batsman around surely.

id like to know how many balls he's actually played at and how many he's defended or left.

England currently 247-2 at the 2nd new ball. Cook out early doors, Compton out for a ton, Trott currently 114 no and recently been joined by KP at the crease.

As a test match batsman he is a player every nation that plays the game would like to have in their side, his strike rate in the one day games doesnae do him many favours, but, he has still put in some fine efforts in that genre of the game.

Only been to a 20/20 match at The Oval when West Indies beat England, good evenings entertainment, although, to the untrained eye its a much better tv sport.

England managed to force NZ to follow on. The Kiwis trail by 134 at 77-1 at the end of day 3. Loads of rain expected, so, could be a draw.

Great start by nz. 250-1. England's middle order is exposed with root and bairstow (the most ginger cricketer ever). Could be a good close finish

Cook's decision to bowl after winning the toss looks like costing England a series victory.

Great rearguard action. Prior is a class act

Can't stop laughing every time I see Monty's 'dive' and subsequent crawl along the pitch to make his ground.

Prior had a few lucky escapes, particularly when the ball bounced back against the stumps but never dislodged the bails, great player to watch though.
