Hibs 3 year deal with puma will come to an end at the end of this season.

Anyone head any news if this will be extended or a new a deal with a new supplier will be made?

This year's tops are the best for a long time, especially the home one. Would be happy with Puma again to be honest, although the thought of a top similar to the late 80's/early 90's but in the current shade of green has me seeping somewhat.

I've really enjoyed the puma shirts great fit and I think they have been different to what we usually get. I'd like hibs to stick with them but if someone else pays more money for the privilege to make the hibs tops then great!

Whatever pays the most cash for me.

Obviously It's a balancing act between cash up front and potential sales. Think a recognised brand like Adidas or Puma is guaranteed to sell well though, as long as the shop actually stocks sizes people want!

I really like the puma shirts that we have had in the recent past. This seasons home and away looks top notch. If we are going to be getting a new sports sponsorship, I hope it is either Nike or Adidas.

Ive been very impressed with the puma tops myself. Although i think there sizes are a bit funky. Usually been a medium but a large in the puma and Ive heard alot of other folk say the same thing about their sizes

Id really like to see the bottle green colour stay going forward.

I think we're doing well with puma just now - the kits look great this season although the training gear is really bad.

Adidas are a great brand but the strips they've made for Aberdeen and hearts this season are pretty dull - the away tops for both those teams are pretty much the same. The hearts tops, naturally, would look cheap regardless of who's making them but this seasons efforts must have taken all of 2 seconds to design - nothing special at all. At least, certainly this year, the puma kit is only for us - I don't see any of the other teams with puma deals having a top like ours which is good as well - shows they're actually considering what they're doing for us rather than just using the same template for everyone.

I think the design of this years kit is good, but I dont really like the way the kits are made (the sleeves in particular look ridiculous!). Id rather we had someone like LCS again, I liked most of those kits and did we not have a lot more input into the design of those kits (rather than just getting a standard design off a Puma distributor)?

Both Edinburgh teams on Adidas deals? :hmmm:

Personally for me it's between Nike, Adidas & a possible extension to the Puma deal

However I would like to see what brands such as Kappa, Under Armour, Umbro & Macron could offer us.

Also hope we keep the bottle green, prefer it so much to the greens we've had the previous years

Aren't Hearts kits just generic Adidas kits that they've bought in rather than having had them designed for them, hence them being rather plain and dull?

Yeah the difference is that Hibs as opposed to a Sunday league side can choose a bespoke colour way due to the number of shirts ordered but essentially it's the same idea as you going into Colin Campbell's and buying 18 Adidas tops then getting someone to print them up you like Hibs don't deal with Adidas/Nike/Puma

Would sellalot of replica and training. Must admit puma training wear isn't the best so a Nike deal would not only look good but make us a wee bit revenue.

I couldn't care less what strip we play in as long as we play proper football. Nike might well give us a bit more exposure or produce a better looking kit but if we don't improve the style of football then we are not going to progress as a club.

I like most Nike kits but the problem with a team like us getting a deal to use Nike is that we'll get the pishy templates that every other team has. It wont be the custom kits that Celtic, Arsenal, Manure etc get. Its a shame because i feel puma had just started getting it right with this seasons kits. Either way, i'll still buy it to help the clubs funds.

I heard earlier that it would be Adidas

Still holding out for a deal with bukta

But I have no doubt that hibs and rod will get us the best deal possible for a club our size with our supporter base.

Which emerald green though? The one from the 70's which was closer to the current strip colour or the one from recent years which was far too light?

Just wondering likesae :greengrin

oh ya wee devil................

......my first Hibs scarf was the bottle green, perhaps a tad lighter. I actually prefer the darker green. Its what I grew up with.........

The green should be somewhere between the current Bottle Green and the Too Light Green of recent seasons.

I liked the 2006/07 tops by Lecoqsportif - especially that yellow away top with the green stripe down the front. :agree:

Also a big fan of last years home strip, I don't often wear it because of the bad memories though.

I bought the Plymouth Argyle home shirt on Tuesday night. £14.99 and paid with PayPal, was here on Thursday. In Easter Road clubstore on Monday and I wanted the yellow 3rd kit and it was still £29.99 The Plymouth top is the exact same shade of green but I would say it is an even poorer quality than our home shirt season but I do like it. Cool local sponsor with Bond Timber as well!

At the moment it's only Liverpool and Sporting Club Emelec (Ecuador) that they make kits for but they've already signed deals for Sevilla, Sagan Tosu (japanese team) and Randers FC from Denmark so it looks like they're expanding. The Liverpool one is nice and plain and the Emelec one would be nice if plain (white sash across a blue top) but is slightly off imho.

I'm not a Liverpool fan by any stretch of the imagination, but thought this seasons home and goalkeeper shirts were fantastic, a real nod back to classic 70s or 80s designs, and judging by the "leaked" pics for next season this is something they will be continuing with.
The other thing I like is they seem to employ a traditional Home shirt, Fairly calm away shirt and Totally Mental 3rd shirt system which I think is decent and will help keep things fresh.
The only real issue I have is the Tribal Tattoo Designs they seem to enjoy so much on the sleeves

I'm slightly confused by your point to be honest from a design point of view the Liverpool home and goalkeeper by warrior is exactly the same as the Spurs home and goalkeeper by Under Armour.
I actually think this could be a really good move for us, as in football terms this is only Warriors second season and still only involved with a few clubs so we still have a good chance of getting a tailor made bespoke design (obviously I don't know this) rather than a template.
Also they are investing a fair bit in football their range of boots is of a very high standard (one design is horrendous but obviously meant to be noticed) and the have got a hold of Umbros Goalkeeper Glove Designer and again put out a really high quality glove that em stands out.
In conclusion I think they will do everything they can to give us what we want as getting roundly panned at this stage of their "soccer" business build up would not be a great move

I'm not usually a fan of replica top but seeing as I'm going on holiday soon tempted to buy what may be the best Hibs top for a long time.

Motherwell?

Reading the thread about possible new shirt suppliers led me to have a look at the Portland Timbers website. It's amazing how quickly you can feel an affinity to a team just because they wear the same strip as Hibs !

Might be a lot of fun to have some sort of official ties to Portland, maybe invite them over for a pre-season friendly.

Worth having a watch of some of their highlights which are available on the website.

Below is a link to a recent 3-3 draw with another team that has Hibs connections.. San Jose Earthquakes. I can still remember that match we played mid-season in 1981 pretty well..seem to remember it was a draw with us coming back from a couple of goals down..or am i making that up ??

I've heard the Warrior kits are terrible material...

Hopefully Nike or Adidas - would even happily stay with Puma.

I'm over in Orlando just now on me holibobs and the wife has dragged me (kicking and screaming) around the 'premium outlets', popped into the Adidas shop to get some peace and saw the Portland strip, at $40/£27 I nearly bought one but the US flag is pretty off putting. Apart from that the strip is mint!

Most kids will buy nike football boots and stuff if the players are wearing nike strips/boots so it makes sense for Nike to do it.

If true, it'll be through a 3rd party supplier, similar to Aberdeen and Dundee Utd

Won't be a deal like Man U with bespoke designed kit and training wear.

Shame but whoever the supplier, I'm sure rod has got us a great deal

We should 'do a Grimsby' from a few years ago where they had their kit supplier make two mock-ups and asked the fans to vote the winner through the official website.

That became their strips for the year and gave them an idea of initial sales. Kind of like how Cowell does it with his new acts.

I really hope that we keep the bottle green for a number of years. Saw someone wearing last year's strip last week, and it just doesn't look right IMO.
