If i were you, i'd get round all the supermarkets and corner shops and fill up with eggs, butter, flour and sugar, i have a feeling they are about to become very scarce products in the Edinburgh area soon?

My house keeps getting blackouts, phoned up my energy supplier and they gave me some excuse about too many ovens being used in Edinburgh at the same time.... 400,000 ovens to be precise

Sorry for pedantic nit-picking but in the interests of accuracy, the statement was uttered by the late great Bill Tennant. That apart it's a classic.

You learn something everyday. Just so I can be pedantic the next time I hear someone making the same mistake...........who is Bill Tennant?

There was huge queues at the new Hearts shop at Hermiston Gait today.

Least I think it's the new Hearts shop what with the aroma of doughnuts.

The late BT was a presenter on the STV's evening show in the 1960's.

I remember watching that particular transmission over family tea and it was obvious Bill was oblivious to the unsubtle innuendo, whilst I was choking on my tea :greengrin

Bill Tennant was a TV presenter who hosted the news magazine that followed the six o'clock news on STV many moons ago.

Don't remember him but I'm pleased to hear the show didn't consist of a Willy, a Johnny and a Fanny! :greengrin
