Yes that was poor tonight and the experiment with formation backfired big style.. But..

On this day last season we were 11th, 1point ahead of Dunfermline and 7 behind 10th place.. We are now in a battle with 10 teams for second place.. We're not any worse than any other team.. Inconsistent, over the whole season.. Lets stand by them and see how we can finish the last 12 games!!

Equally, we are in a battle not to finish 11th ( accepting that Dundee will not miraculously find a winning formula).

Next to Dundee being almost certain to go down, I fail to see much difference with last season. We could very easily end up in 11th place again, especially playing as we are.

We could also find our early season form and finish second?

Possibly true, but can you honestly see that happening??

Perspective = it's just football, we're crap at it mostly, do some charity work, eat monster munch, hire a pedalo, get some sleep.

I don't see why not! Fenlon experimented today with what a lot of people wanted.. Two wide players and two up front and it failed.. We have to stick to being hard to beat until the end of the season where the serious work on the forward 5/6 can start!

It wasn't the formation that let us down. It was the 2 major changes in midfield, leaving both Cairney and Claros out from the start.

It was also very poor individually from each player. St Johnstone looked faster and fitter than us all over the pitch. I don't really think the extra man they had in midfield was the cause of this. We were just poor all round.

A team of individuals....

Im not impressed I actually wanted to watch footballers play football. St Johnstone should have scored 5 or 6!

Agreed this was an experiment!! St Jo's played well and put an end to this particulr experiment, by the time it had unraveled the game was gone and it was too late since we were chasing the game and lost all shape. PF knows he can make us difficult to beat and he is trying to move on from this, now will people give him a chance to try something new or will they protest he should be sacked every time he tries something new and it doesn’t come off.

experiments should happen on the training pitch, during a match they should no longer be "experimenting" they should be implementing a plan of action&attack. imho

Desire, hard work, playing for your mates, anticipation, movement, urgency , aggression. All missing.
Noticed a lot of arguing going on whilst St J players were encouraging each other. They knew they had us. Maybe Derek Adams is right - no bottle.

I just wonder why there's no bottle and why has it been missing so often and for such long periods under different managers with all different players?

What makes other teams " tick " that we have been unable to grasp ?
