Don't know if this has been asked before but an interesting wee brain teaser for a Sunday evening. ( I don't have the answer)

On the home page a photo of the famous five in their numbered training tops appears. Smith No 13, Johnstone No 15, Reilly No 16, Turnbull No 17, Ormond No 18.

Who was No 14?

Sad, but I am interested.

You could be right.

Makes sense but it would be interesting if it could be confirmed.

I wonder when the photo was taken? Did Bobby Combe get No 14 at the start of the season and was then replaced in the team by Bobby Johnstone?
I take it all the others were first picks to get consecutive numbers.

Now that I am really thinking about it who were Nos 1 to 12?

Simple I know, but I would automatically have numbered the famous five Nos 7 to 11 as was the fashion at the time.

Anyway, slow Sunday night and perhaps one of our esteemed historians may be able to throw some light on it.
