Looking to go to Egypt in the summer with the other half, am i as well going AI or eat out every night. Never been before so not sure what the restaurants are like.

There are some good places if you like middle eastern food otherwise you can get western food in some of the bigger hotels. I'm sure you're already aware of all the trouble in Cairo just now so probably worth doing some research if you're staying there.

sharm el sheik... amazing!!! nuff said. gorgous resorts beaches night life is immense. restaraunts rock and people are relaxed and welcoming :-)

Personally, I would be waiting a little while to see what happens with the political situation there before making any arrangements to go there on holiday.

Dozens of people are being killed every day at the moment and there's violent demonstrations happening all over the place.

If it was me, I would be exploring alternative destinations at the moment.

Was in Cairo and Luxor last April.

If you like your history, you will be knocked out by both, especially the latter.

I did the same last June (for the second time). Luxor is an amazing place surrounded by so much history. Took a trip across to the valley of the queens and there were only the five of us there. Even Karnak Temple was quiet and I was able to take photos without any people in them.

Shrm might be nice. The rest of Egypt is a stinking cess pit. Would rather be in Nigeria than there.
