Malaga v Barcelona ko is 10pm Spanish time on a Thursday night in January.
What would we say if we played a big club, and we kicked off at this sort of time on a Thursday?

Its not as bad as it seems as people in spain tend to work later after having a couple of hours off during the day

Yep, not uncommon to see families out for a stroll at 11pm in Barcelona. Dinner usually isn't eaten until about 10.

It's ok in spain as most of them have no work to get up in the morning for, poor buggers.

They've kicked off at midnight before. Just after Ronaldinho had signed.

Late night games are the norm in Spain for the reasons already given above and also due to the heat.

The heat is the main reason of course,

But the millions they get from TV would also swing it. Lets be honest if Sky was giving Hibs the money they give to English or Spanish football we wouldn't care about playing at 3am in the night never mind 10pm

Spain does have a much later evening culture, and typically away support is negligible, so people aren't traveling long distances home after the match.
