It's not clear what previous convictions he has. I wonder if his need to feel important has led him to do other things in the past.

Promotion of terrorism carries a long sentence these days. The BBC report isn't as comprehensive as it could be, but the bottom line is that this is exactly what the guy was doing.

That's what I was thinking. The press like to exaggerate the small details to sensationise things.
However, if it was a Muslim extremist spreading propoganda for a terrorist group he would be jailed. That's what this guy has done so nae luck.

I'm surprised his lawyer didn't try that - they usually do when the only thing wrong with someone is that they are an idiot.
