Can't give too many of our players pass marks today but thought Ryan was the best of a bad bunch.

the whole defence done very well....they needed to as the midfield never really had enough possession to give them a rest.

Would be unfair to fault any of the back 5 really, in front of them, we we struggled, mostly due to allowing the yams to drag us down to their level

Good performance, only negative was distribution at times, but he wasn't the only one guilty of hoofing it.

The back four and goalie played Hearts on their own.

Thought both him and Clancy played well. The latter did well to deal with everything coming at him both on and off the pitch.

Full backs were good. Thought it was harsh on Stevenson to miss out but it turned out to be the right decision.

Having said that Stevenson was decent when he came on.

Got stuck in and tried to drive us forward.

Spot on mate. The keeper and back 4 were very good and won us a point tonight. I do think we are gradually seeing our fortunes changing against our fiercest rivals and for me that is down to 2 things - (1) Hearts quality of player is deteriorating and (2) Paddy Fenlon. He's toughened us up and signed better quality players. Hearts current plight should see us winning more than we lose against them in the near future IMO.

Watched the game on the telly and before McGivern made the block I would have said Clancy for MotM. After that though its a close call between those two. Terrible game to watch with the back 5 getting a huge pat on the back. The midfield just dont have enough quality going forward at the moment but the last couple of games have shown a real battling quality that has been pleasing after some of the performances last season.

Whole back 4 played well the night. McPake made some important tackles/blocks in the 2nd half.

Thought he was unlucky to be dropped after his performance against celtic and was excellent when he came on tonight

Defended valiantly today. Great covering play when their guy looked certain to score.

Indeed, just the worst hoofer of every cant though but thankfully the main priority was defending and we kept a clean sheet.

I would say Williams distribution was worse but every kick he made was straight at Doyle so at least he did what Fenlon asked. If only Doyle was a decent size/decent in the air rather than the biggest small guy in our front 6 it might have worked once out of 30 times.............

Torture to watch that.

:agree: So frustrating watching them do the same thing over and over again - Zaliukas was winning everything and sending it straight back.

I thought it was between Clancy and McGivern for our MOTM tonight. As discussed already, the whole defence deserve credit for the performance as the midfield decided to take the night off.

Whole back 4 played well the night. McPake made some important tackles/blocks in the 2nd half.

While I'd agree with that he also nearly gave away a penalty and again he went charging into a header, never got the ball and was very out of position.

Not one of his best games imo.

Here, here. Better than both full backs. IMO of course.

The entire defence played well tonight.

Pity about the midfield.

The midfield weren't helped by the constant hoofball of the back 5 of both teams meaning thàt the ball was constantly getting headed from back 4 to back 4 taking the midfield out of the game effectively or did I miss something ???

Opinions eh. I thought his performance could best be described in one phrase: "Hoof".

Paul Hanlon has been excellent all season, yet he still "has his critics". Poor.

Defence is about defending as a unit and I don't think our recent slump has been unrelated to the fact that we've have been without two or three of the first choice who played tonight.

Despite a couple of hairy incidents, you have to wonder how long Hearts could have played without actually scoring. And that's not because they don't have any good forwards.
