With thanks to book publishers Birlinn, who have furnished us with a full set of Alan Lugton's "The Making of Hibernian" trilogy, we here at hibs.net are proud to present an attendance competition where one lucky winner will win all 3 volumes of the set. The famous publications (these are the recently re-printed limited run versions) chronicle the history of Hibernian Football Club from its beginnings up to just after the end of World War II. A highly desirable set of books for any Hibs fan.

How to win. Please read everything:

All you have to do is post, on this thread, what you think the attendance will be when Hibernian host Ross County in the Boxing Day SPL encounter. This year, Boxing Day conveniently falls on December 26th. The nearest guesstimate will win the books.

:rules:

...Attendance will be taken from the Hibernian FC official site. In the event that there is no attendance figure posted there, we will use the BBC sport site.

...One guess per person. We won't be doing any 'if this is taken then go for...' options - that's more than one guess.

...In the case of any duplicate winning guess being made, the winner will be the earliest correct guess posted.

...In the event of 2 guesses being the same amount out either side of the actual figure, the lower guess will win.

...Guesses of 'zero' or similar won't count in the case of match abandonment, postponement or for any other reason including alien abduction and comedic effect.
...In case of any dubiety, we will double check with the official site.
...Our decision is final.


It's a 3pm kick off and the competition closes at 2:30pm on Wednesday December 26th. Guesses posted after that time will be ignored.
