Call me cynical but I think this is stomach churning PR machinery. If they had any REAL class they would have done it without any fanfare...

You are cynical. Where does it say Celtic actively contacted the Guardian, not vice versa. Or indeed that one of the kids parents or someone at the hospital got in touch?

Rather there was a wee article in the Guardian to prove that they've done it then 20 kids' presents remained stolen. It's not like they've released a special strip, DVD or held a minute's silence for the missing presents. Though none of those would necessarily surprise me mind........

Fair play to them.

Ridiculous post. Only in football circles could such a gesture be viewed negatively. Close thread.

Very nice gesture and publicity for them.

Great gesture IMO, I assume Alan Sugar is not doing it for the publicity either....

Can we just not accept their kindness for what it actually is?

Fantastic gesture. Well done Celtic.

Only time I've ever said that.

I'm sure the kids at the hospital aren't going to turn their noses up. 'Oh I don't want this gift because Celtic got a bit publicity out of it'.

All clubs use charity work to get a bit good publicity. Hibs will do their annual Sick Kids visit and I bet the press will be there and get a few soundbites. So what? The good deed is still being done.

Well done to Celtic, probably put a smile on a few kids faces and they should be praised for that.

Lovely gesture from Celtic but would rather they spent the money in Scotland's hospitals and left GOSH to the rich London Clubs. Won't do their PR in England any harm and their bid to join the English leagues though will it.

Good gesture by Celtic.

Although, they do have previous of drawing as much attention as possible to their good deeds.

TBH GOSH is an national and international center for piediatric specialisms.

Many children from all over the UK end up at GOSH.

My sister in law was a sister there after doing her nurses training at the hospital.

Had Petrie announced this .net would have crashed under the sheer amount of posts simply stating "Hibs class".

Well done Celtic, a great gesture.

Hibs did this today, not seen anything in the press though (yet).

Tight *******s. You'd think they could have added to the 20 instead of just replacing them!

Just kidding, well done, even small gestures can go a long way.
