Yeap. Easter road has been a much better place to visit this season. I can't see how anybody would suggest otherwise.

Yes it has, if you are comparing it to other most recent seasons, but it'll take far more than a few decent games, early season, to turn things around to any great degree, especially when the usual cold weather slump comes in to play.

Boxing Day will be a good indicator of how the support is holding up in the context of the early season increases, and in comparison to last year. On 28 December last year we played ICT at ER, and we watched by 6,923 - Ross County's away support will be comparable to Inverness last year (i.e. very, very little), so let's see how we do. Even if we lose to Killie I would expect it to be way up on that low point from last year, and either way, the Celtic game on 29 December should see our biggest home attendance v them for a long, long time.

Incidentally, when we played Dunfermline (who would have had a decent support) on 9 December 2000, it was our 20th league game of the season and our 13th win (yes, really) - and the attendance was only 10,078. I don't really see what the fuss is about regarding the crowd on Saturday, the Motherwell support was tiny so there was still a good number of Hibbies there.

I'm loving going to ER this season and the last two home defeats, whilst disappointing, have still been really entertaining and a good day out.

And there you go again, what are tonights lottery numbers Ray? It must be fantastic living your life in the 70s, the summers were better too.

If you actually saw the team play on any regular basis these days, you would be much more positive about what direction the team is going, but no you knock yourself out predicting the doom we are all about to see this winter.

Very difficult time of the year, for those with kids especially. I would have gone today but sandwiched between my sons birthday and christmas I couldn't afford it. sacrifices have to be made and football is a luxury that's first to go when things are tight I'm afraid.

10/10

Since your return from that spell of dissenting you have become worse that a reformed smoker, although their message is merited!

I ignored the Tardis comment first time around, but just in case the fact has escaped you, the TT’s and 72/3 season is a pretty topical subject at the moment, with the 40th anniversary of the league cup final being on 9th of this month, the Ayr game’s anniversary was on Sunday & with the 7-0 game’s anniversary under two weeks away.

As it doesn’t go with your agenda to discredit anybody who fails to have similar views to you, you have totally neglected the decades after the seventies, when I would regularly attend games and pay for season tickets. But it is not just me & that’s the worry, many many long term supporters have given up the ghost.

As for predicting the doom, never mind the future, a lot of it is here and now, that’s why crowds are down, and people got sick of the last four years & were already at the point of no return, when the come final appeared. Good marketing by Petrie & Co, managed to salvage season tickets from the back of a cup final appearance, or the attendances would be worse.

For the record, I do believe that Pat Fenlon will come good, however, a lot of people are still disenchanted by the recent past & the belief much of it was self inflicted. Therefore attendances suffer & although they started picking up, after a bright start to the campaign, performances, when hope was again partly restored, against the like of Dundee & Inverness brought back the familiar feeling of being let down by the club and hence the bigger than expected drop against Motherwell and the debate that ensued on here.

To finish, as the saying goes, if you can’t stand the heat, keep off the threads where your sensitivity may get offended.

Neber smoked, so have no ide what you are on about? What i can say is when the team are struggling, i will tell it as it is. If its crap i will say its crap, if its better i will say so. You cant, you keep saying its crap even when you dont go and dont watch us??????

I know its the 40th anniversary of the greatest game, but you dont hear me banging on about it all the time. You mention the 70s and the TT virtually every post, you compare todays football with it all the time. ITS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAME NOW??????????

I dont have an agenda, i just say it as it is. When we are poor i will say so, when its better the same. As someone else has pointed out, crowds are not down they are rising. Its funny how you say it was good marketing from Petrie with the season tickets pre cup final, surely you must mean blackmail and guilt trip? But no, yet again you would rather look on the bad side of things, season ticket sales would have been worse because he managed to salvage something?

Again you are talking mince, the crowd was not down on the corresponding fixture, and we all know crowds dip at this time of year. And once again rather than look at just how well we have been doing, you'd rather concentrate on a small section of the season?

To finish, as the saying goes, if you can’t stand the heat, keep off the threads where your sensitivity may get offended.

I can stand the heat, it was you who left the kitchen 2 years ago, and get your dinners made in the microwave these days.

You don’t have to have smoked to know what I was going on about regarding the reformed smoker.
No, for the first time since I was about five, I haven’t been this year, but I’ve watched all the TV transmitted games this season and I have enough friends and family who have been this season for them to have formed an opinion and their view doesn’t seem too far away from mine.

With all due respect, I was 16-17 when the 72-3 season played out, which can be the most definitive time supporting a club. Your mature enough to get a handle on what things are about and not old enough to have the adult distractions taking your mind away from your club, so of course a lot of it sticks and of course I’ll happily contribute when questions are asked about that area, as the recent comparison between the golden generation and the TT’s.

I’m not foolish enough to compare today’s football with the TT’s, back then Scotland had an abundance of talent and every top division team had at least one top player playing for them. What I have compared are the crowds and, big games apart, today’s crowds are likely to be better than back then, even despite the massive disparity with the price.

You don’t have carte blanch in “saying it as it is”, some people’s “as it is” differs from yours, live with it rather than make snide comments, I don’t agree with your opinion but I didn’t need to make comments like [COLOR="#FF0000"]“I agree with every word, although i think you are wasting your time with some, especially those who hardly come to any games and also those stuck in the 70'”

As for the “blackmail”, yes it was, but it sold tickets and has made this season’s crowds bigger than they would have been. People on here have said they are only going because they bought tickets in those circumstances and I have a mate and his two sons, who only go for very same reason. Again, do you want to change that just to fit it in with your “saying as it is”?

For the record, I do believe that Pat Fenlon will come good, however, a lot of people are still disenchanted by the recent past & the belief much of it was self inflicted. You mean the corresponding fixture, during a spell where we had slipped to about second bottom, playing what many people had considered to be the worst football they had ever seen. I think it’s you who’s talking mince.

To finish, as the saying goes, if you can’t stand the heat, keep off the threads where your sensitivity may get offended.

I can stand the heat, it was you who left the kitchen 2 years ago, and get your dinners made in the microwave these days.

That’s fine, I respect everyone who goes and I also respect the opinion of those who have chosen to stop.
