View Full Version : overseas fans - New HibsTV Xtra service is a success

Good news - the Club have agreed to continue the live video streaming/commentary for all home games for the rest of the season.
I am told this is because of record viewing numbers from overseas fans for the last 2 matches against Aberdeen and Hearts. The quality of streaming and commentary for both matches was excellent, and I hope more overseas supporters will give this new service a try.
The next thing we are trying to persuade the Club to do is provide a half season/full season/annual subsription option, as now you need to pay 10 pounds for each match seperately. This should make the service even more profitable with guaranteed income in advance.
Todays match against Motherwell is being shown at http://www.hiberniantv.co.uk/xtra Please support this service, as its taken a lot of campaigning to get the Club to reintroduce the live TV service.

Good news indeed - great to have the team back online for all home games - signed up for today's match and looking forward to a good stream and a resounding victory for us...

Yup, really good news, signed up for today's match too.

One query. Any idea how this will pan out with overseas Hibernian TV subscribers? Won't there be an overlap when HTV are showing the same game as HTV xtra?

Yes there will be an overlap. For instance the Celtic match will be shown on both. The HibsTV Xtra will be better as it will include the biased Hibs TV commentary team. But will cost an extra 10 pounds.
The Hearts match at New Year will only be on the old Hibernian International service as its an away match. The new HibsTV Xtra is only for all home matches (including cup ties).
I guess Hibs TV may drop the old International service eventually (dont know when). But for now we have both, which covers nearly all Hibs matches which is great.

Thanks for that, HKH. Have to agree I prefer the biased commentary too :-)

You cannot watch it using IE browser. Is that the problem? Download Firefox browser - it works fine for me.

Picture OK but the sound is doubled up. The one advantage to this is that it makes the attendance at ER sound bigger.
