Any idea why we are training at Easter Road instead of East Mains today?

I'd imagine East Mains will be frozen - ER has undersoil heating?

I imagine that to be the case. Bloody weather!

But don't we have full sized indoor pitches? Very strange to train at ER. Maybe the roads out at Tranent are really dangerous?

I think there's one indoor pitch but the roof's not very high, so not ideal to do set-piece work and that.

Aye I hear a ferrari suffered a bit of damage near there not so long ago . Snow was suspected of being a contributing factor.

For training i would have thought the use of the indoor area would have been suffice.

Strange one, only other thing i can think of if the outdoor pitches are frozen is to use ER for tactics on positional play - but that is clutching at straws. :-)

Do they not always train at ER once a week in the run up to a home match so that the players are more familiar with the pitch?

If you have been to EAst mains you will know the indoor pitch is small - lucky to get 5a side game on it. Also bloody freezing and walls close to pitch so i wouldnt want to risk any injuries on it. Reality is a full indoor facility for adults is expensive to build and maintain.

I'm Sure PF said at the start of the season they would hold some training sessions at ER to keep the players used to the facilities.

is to help the players get more familiar with the weather conditions up north for the next time we play aberdeen, ross county and ict. to prevent another humping.

Pity we didnt have an undersoil heated pitch at EM. Appreciate the costs involved would be a factor.

one day maybe...

I drove past Pittodrie on Monday, the Aberdeen players sometimes train on the grass adjacent to the ice rink. The players (1st team) were clearing snow from the grass, with big orange shovels, so they could train. None of this indoor facilities for them

After watching the shambles our defence was in at the goals on Saturday, defensive positioning is a definite necessity.

Hopefully they've been training out in the cold all week.

They never looked like they could stand up to it last weekend.

There is an indoor rubber crumb pitch at the uni sports centre that they used to train on. I mind watching them briefly for 5mins and thinking how gash Langfield is. Maybe can't afford to use it anymore?
