Just been to the calendar signing...In my 5mins in the room I thought the players were being great with the fans...eg. Smith, Taiwo, Clancy, Murdoch and McPake all started a conversation with myself. Lots of smiling, joking and general chit chat between fans and players. I think (barring calum booth) the whole squad was there too and it's all these little touches which bring the fans even closer to the team. Thumbs up!

Prepare for a deluge of six year old jokes, as funny (?) now as they were then.

Seriously though, the players were really good with the kids and it was great to see the whole squad there.

Someone said to Griffiths "I was going to bring you a contract to sign" and he said "You're about the fiftieth person to say that the night." :greengrin

The away kids top without a sponsor look amazing signed IMO:

That's a terrible join the dots game, there isn't even a number 5.

It only went well because Chelsea weren't playing.

i've often wondered what the infamous old calender thread was about...is there any chance someone could provide a brief synopsis, so that newbies can help out with hijacking this one?:aok:

There can be no adequate summary of the cantaloupe thread. Get it read: http://www.hibs.net/showthread.php?62046-re-calender-signing.

Agree was a good night, players were really good with the fans. Seemed to be a better atmosphere within the group.

JmcP hoping to be involved this Saturday, Clancy looking to get back to training next week.

Quite quiet when I was past well after 7. Many of the players were great with the kids, McPake in particular. Only bit of controversy was Kuqi swinging in his chair and losing his balance, falling into the wall behind him. Should have remarked to him that I was still waiting for him to get me out of my seat this season, but noted he is considerably larger than me so best not.
The Calendar signing and Pantomime are terrific events for the kids, give them a real treat to be able to meet their Heros, a treat that their friends who maybe support the Old Firm will never get. Gives our club a real family feel, everyone part of it and all in it together.

I was very disappointed that Scott Brown didn't show up at all. Complete lack of professionalism on his part. I'm firmly of the opinion that his heart (and entire body) lie elsewhere.

Agree with that. Good event for the kids to see their heroes.

Looks good and great to see Fenlon and the players trying to bridge the gap with the fan base - basics in my opinion.

You get that feeling this season - people / youngsters are starting to have favourite players again compared to previous years it was hard to relate to any of the players.

Hopefully next year it will grow and be bigger and better - well done Hibs :greengrin

Has anyone else ever bumped up their post count by bypassing the "multi-quote" feature?

Manoeuvring for landmark posts starts earlier than ever. :hilarious
