Winning the cup in your lifetime?
Winning the league in your lifetime?
Playing Champions League in your lifetime?
Seeing Tynecastle bulldozed in your lifetime and Hearts being reduced to the pub leagues? :greengrin

if you could choose anything, what would it be? League form me. To be champions would be amazing, even better than ending the cup jinx.

Winning the league in my lifetime is probably the ultimate but not hugely unrealistic dream. I'm very confident I'll see us win the Scottish Cup but I guess there have been many people who thought that and never did! Winning the league would just be a whole different level though.

Winning the league.

Poor teams with a wee bit luck can win cups, it takes a.consistently good team to win the league.

Pah. Winning the league is old hat. The last time was only a couple of years ago in 1952.

Been there, done that, worn the t-shirt.

Now, the Scottish Cup, that's a bit different.

Winning the League on the last day on goal difference when we have to win 8-0. Our opponents on the day .............Hearts, condemning them to relegation and saving Dundee.

Too much ?

To be able to line up one to eleven on a regular basis, with home grown players that have come through the youth system and to be able to complete at the top end of the league with said players.

Defo the Scottish Cup.

The feeling after the final last year was horrendous, I just wish it was McPake lifting that trophy. Could you imagine the celebrations when we do win it?

Don't think I will be seen for about a month :greengrin

Has to be the cup, purely because of our unique set of circumstances.

For fans of almost any other club in Scotland, I would imagine that winning the league would come miles ahead of winning the cup in their list of priorities, for the reasons that others have already mentioned, i.e. it takes a very good side to win a league title, whereas a lucky side can win a cup.

Probably the Scottish Cup for me, been the same every year since I was seven.

However after the Mercer episode the most important thing for me is waking up in the morning knowing there is a Hibs that I can follow.

Bring back the European Cup, and then for Hibs to win it. We have unfinished business in that competition.

Winning the league would be great but it's never gonna happen. Winning the cup shouldn't be out with our ambitions though and I only truly prayer that I'm there the day we win the Scottish cup. Don't care who it's against. Just so long as it happens.

The cup for me , Hibs have won the league played in the European cup and beaten the likes of Barcalona and Napoli in Europe , won the league cup 3 times etc etc etc but we have not won the cup so thats what I wish for and it better be soon. But we do not need to buy it like our near neighbours because that could spell the death of Hibs.

My realistic ambition would be to win the Scottish Cup and successfully defend it.

My unrealistic ambition would be to win the treble, but only because I can't see us ever having the depth of squad to compete with Smeltic (or Sevco when they reach the SPL) over the course of a full season to win the league.

The league for me and everything it brings these days.

Scottish cup is still realistic, never thought we might win the league since the 70's, and too young and naive to realise that was diminishing with time then.

Get into the Champions League and beat Stade Reims in the quarters, followed by AS Roma in the semis to find ourselves beating a revived 'The Hearts' FC 7-0.

The domestic season involved the same result against the same team in the LC and SC as well as a title winning game against the same team to beat them on goal difference by +1 thanks to a 7-0 win.

That's if I had to be realistic though. :greengrin

After THAT game in May... The SC is the main realistic goal for me as a hibby.

That was the worst feeling I've felt being a hibby, and if I'm honest last Sunday was one of the best in my 26 years.

Now think of how we would feel to win the SC now after the pain of this year. I'm ready, bring it home paddy!!!!!

It's winning the league for me - then the Scottish cup as well, while we're at it - oh, and that League Cup as well - and if that East of Scotland Shield is still going I'd like that too thank you very much ... plus 4x sound victories against that lot - now that would be quite a season!:greengrin

Thatīll be too late for most of us on this forum then. FWIW, I reckon the Hun support in Edinburgh has doubled in the past twenty or so years, since the Souness era. Iīve said many times that the number of kids supporting them astonished me when I was involved in schools football with my older laddie, and most of their Dads were Jambos. The power of the media.

Beyond the Scottish I would also have a decent spell in Europe. If the likes of Rosenberg can do it then so can we, surely Hibs a bigger revenue stream than any Norweigan side

Wining the league is probably the pinnacle for a club of our size, even with only one half of what was the old firm.

I'd like us to win the Scottish and hopefully get to a Europa group stage.

It isn't unrealistic for that reason.

I can see it now - we'd blitz the league, win 5-0 against Celtic in the LC final and somehow capitulate in the final of the Scottish against East Stirling.

My ambition is to see the club punch its weight, and that means us competing in the league as a top 6 side fighting for a European place every season.

And with reasonable draws, to compete at the later stages of both cups on a regular basis.
