I've been told that this is actually a photo of the posh boys, Beaker, Gideon and Dave reacting to shadow chancellor Ed Balls response to the chancellor's autumn statement, which raised concerns about the plans to slash welfare again and increase tax allowances for the wealthy and business.

I can't believe that and I'm sure the wit and intellect of Hibs.net can come up with a more realistic explanation!

Danny Alexander was state-educated and from a working class family. If that qualifies as 'posh', it's the first time I've ever been called posh.

Class politics is pathetic either way. Osbourne went to the same school as Harman and Balls was privately educated. People in glass houses and all that.

That's probably the worst caption I've ever read.

Cameron has the house in stitches with his "look at my microphone-pen15' gag.

Hilarity in the House as Osborne "accidently" sits on David Cameron's hand.

Nah, doesn't scan. Try again.

Casting sessions for Police Academy the Political Years, began in earnest at Westminster today. Said Danny Alexander "I didn't know what was funnier, Ed Balls - or Nick Clegg underneath the lectern".

Maybe they were laughing at Ed's response which has been widely reported as being rather unimpressive?

Or the fact that Ed managed to do what you have done here and somehow make the fact that they are 'posh boys' central to some sort of political point?

Or that even after reading his official repsonse here: http://www.labour.org.uk/autumn-statement-response-by-ed-balls,2012-12-05 they were none the wiser as to what he would propose to remedy this situation?

It would seem to me all parties are fiddling at the sides of this issue instead of owing up that the country is broke and that we can no longer support the govermnet spending we thought we could or even the spending we would like to have. Maybe they are laughing at the thought of any of our elected representatives having the where with all to actually admit this?

I don't think that one's going to win any prizes either...

It started off badly, got worse towards the middle, and sort of petered out at the end. :agree:

Gideon was slow to work out why Dave had given Ed the nickname "Talking".
