If Chelsea finish level on points and end up with a superior goal difference to Shakhtar why wouldn't they go through to last 16? I've had a look but can't see rules explained.

Hmmm. It is confusing. Shakhtar are 4 goals better than Chelsea. It might maybe go something like imagine if those two games were knockout games then Shakhtar would progress based on away goals.
