That boy is ****ing rank, and come 1st February he'll be one of their best players.

Watch out for the trap door Yams, it's closer than you think :aok:

Don't often advocate negative tactics but we should have looked to get him an early bath yesterday. After taking Spoony out with that shoulder charge he was rattled and losing the place.

He was the weak link in that team.

Id said a couple of days before it that Spoony had him on toast in the first game and could do so with ease again this time around, he didn't quite get to go at him as much but he did when it mattered! Delighted for him and hope we get him a new contract!

Just looking at the league table, they could easily find themselves in a similar situation to Hibs last season............... 11th and looking over their shoulder hoping that the bottom team doesn't pick up some wins.

Hibs strengthened last January, Hearts will be significantly weakened this January.

If he doesn't get a contract then hibs.net will pay for him.

You are talking about McHattie, aren't you? :greengrin

And we didn't have any points deductions to weaken our position.

If they get the full 18 points they're toast.

And just look at the run of games that takes them to January 30th crunch match vs Dundee:

Aberdeen (H)
St Johnstone (A)
Dundee Utd (H)
Kilmarnock (A)
Ross County (A)
Hibernian (H)
Celtic (A)

3 or 4 points if they're lucky, and after that their squad is gone!

In a word, relegation.

I posted at half time that Spoony needed to start taking him on.

1. Cos he is rank
2. Cos he'd been booked

Spoony playing much better this season but wish he would take his man on more.. see what happens

Hope the fire sale at PBS actually happens this year.....

cos if it does ... they are going to struggle big time

Hertz are going bust

Which means that both St Mirren and Dundee don't have to play them again until they're top players are gone. They'll be massive 6 pointers and they'll be fielding their U20 team.

Not only will he be one of there better players they'll likely still have John Mcglynn in charge as well :hilarious

He won't get sent to the stand though, you watch :agree:

Is he not naturally a full back? He's not a striker anyway, that's for sure.

To be fair to McHattie anyone who had Zaliukas talking them through the game would struggle.

When captain fantastic himself tried to shield the ball out of play in the 1st half and let Griffiths sneak round the outside of him and keep it in before responding with a shove to the ground was a particular highlight.

How that lot rate him is beyond me, if it wasn't for Webster they would lose goals as well, then they would really have to start worrying.

Wish we had a manager who doesnae get sent to the stand.

The secret, apparently, is to keep your hands in your pockets at all times.

Not only do you not get sent to the stand, you never have to buy anyone a drink.

Makes driving the team minibus a bit dodgy, though.

The real test of our mentality will be whether we beat them (or even draw) at Tynecastle. We certainly have the squad for it (and they have a lack of one) so any potential defeat on the day would be down to bottle. Let's hope we can do it.

You say that now but I can't help but imagine the following BBC report - "Hearts claimed victory on derby day against rivals Hibernian, the only goal of the game coming from the unlikelist of sources in youngster Kevin McHattie."

Hopefully they've got a youngster of similar standard ready to step in to replace the boy that's off to China.

They will just play that Paterson laddie in his correct position at the back.

Still a defender though. Not a bad one either.

Not so sure about that. With him on one side and McHuddie on the other the full backs will be their weak links. They don't have wide players that work particularly hard either so doubling up on our attacking players seems unlikely. Think Cairney could be the key tomorrow.

Really can't wait for the game, coz they are gash :agree:

Well they are at 7 points with Ross County game cancelled.

January will be a big month for them as it should shape the rest of their season, players wise. Here's hoping it will be a very depleted squad :agree: which is what it should be if they are going to live within their means.
