Just wondering if anyone thinks renaming the stadium or any of the stands as a way to bring in extra cash would be a good idea. Don't know if we would make millions but surely any extra would help the club.

South Stand is called the rainbow communications stand.

Depends on how it's handled - for example, renaming it the "Guinness Stadium" would be wrong, but calling it "Guinness Easter Road" would be fine.

And it also needs the right sponsor - for example a payday loan company wouldn't be Hibs class.

I've always said that I wouldn't mind if Hibs sold the naming rights to Easter Road.

As long as it was a cool name and nothing we'd be embarrassed to be associated with, it would bring in a decent wedge for the club.

Whatever it was renamed as it would still be Easter Road to the people that matter, the fans.

Hopefully in a few days time, there will be a campaign to name the West Stand the 'Vladimir Romanov Stand'. We can then invite our hero to attend the naming ceremony when we play Club 13. :greengrin

If the money went to improving the team then i'd have no problem. To me it will always be Easter Road.

Selling the naming rights is not Hibs class, IMO. Unless Leith San Siro Ltd come up with an offer we can't refuse.

They can sell the naming rights for the stadium to the highest bidder for all I care, it doesn't matter as it will always be Easter Road to me and I'm sure every other Hibs fan will still call it Easter Road. Know plenty of Newcastle fans who thought exactly the same about St James Park despite what Mike Ashley had it named.
