There's info on there... I've not been to McDiarmid Park by train so couldn't comment myself.

Best way is taxi. Cost around £6

cheers man. taxis and student budgets dont work so the bus is a likely option

edit: if it costs £6 though then a taxi has become more viable

If you aren't very familiar with Perth, a Taxi is definatly the best option. Won't cost alot.

You might find a few fellow Hibbes at the station who may share your cab

Saw on the info site: "Perth train station is nearly three miles away from the ground, which is really too far to walk."

"Nearly" 3 Miles is "too far" Really ?? It's a nice half hour walk in Perth at most. Although if you're unsure were you're going I suppose just jump in a taxi.

I remember it more as a brisk 30 mins walk.

Mind you that was after the match and we were going back to the train station with a train to catch.

If you dont want a train/megabus then the no 16 from Union street/nethergate/perth Road Dundee will take you along the carse to Perth ( scenic route )

get off at Canal street, Perth (right turn past Perth Sheriff Court/car park on left Italian Corner at junction on left also) Then through town centre ( ask for Playhouse cinema) find taxi ranks there and also bus stops as other poster said #1 bus will take you up to Letham /tulloch which is near the Crieff road and Mcdiarmind park.

TBH it wouldn't take 50 minutes to walk, 30 at most I'd reckon. from Town head up Dunkeld road then left onto Crieff Road and follow it all the way out ( 1 mile !) and you can't miss McDiarmid just before Tesco's watering hole nearby 208 away fan friendly so I'm told.

Taxi. :agree:

Although you'd probably need to get one of the buses mentioned above back to the town if you wanted to avoid a lengthy walk.

I've lived in Perth for over 20 years and I've still no idea which buses go where. :greengrin

On the topic of student budgets, is there a student price available tomorrow night? Official site makes no mention of it.

I'm living with a Saints fan that says they've stopped the student concessions. It's either an adult or crouching down for an under16 unfortunately :aok:

In case anybody doesn't know, The Ormond Stand will be closed tomorrow night but I'm sure the North Stand with a capacity of 2,000 should be ample.

I remember we used to get 1/2 of the main stand. Better view from there, rather than behind the goals

It's not the walk there that's the problem, it's the walk back. First time I done it I ended up lost, miles away from the station and in a McDonalds on the edge of town. Freezing, wet and in the dark it's not fun so remember and study the route on the way there if your in a taxi. As for other Hi-bees, I didn't see any to ask how to get home :tumble:.

Hop on the Citylink and get off at Broxden - it's about a 15/20 minute walk from there.

Either that or see if anyone is heading through from Tayside, as there are a few Hibbys in Dundee/surrounding, and ask if a lift is possible. I'm sure for a nominal petrol fee someone will be happy to help out a fellow Hibby in need.

Or you pick up two school kids on the way. They can do their homework while you're watching the match.

They've never done them!

I went with a group of friends to watch Livingston play St Johnstone when I was in my 2nd year as an undergrad at Dundee (2005) and they didn't offer student concessions then.

One of (if not the) only clubs in the SPL who don't offer it.

As an aside, I usually park over the motorway and walk to the ground. Anyone park in the official car. How long does it usually take to get out?

If you're really lucky, you'll be out just in time for the Derby match

It used to be notorious for taking so long to get out of there but the marshalling is much better now. I've used it the last couple of times I have been there with no problems at all.

If you're getting the train through the bus station is just along the road. A number 14/15 Almondbank or Crieff at 18.55 will drop you off outside the ground at 19.10. The 208 is just along the road and is a bit of a hibs pub. Guinness is good as well. From Mill St. get a 2 from York place it's a 1.
