Saw on the news no-one is to face criminal charges. Anybody been affected by this?
One of the Whistleblowers is a relation of mine and the past couple of years have been very worrying for myself and my family. If nobody is getting jail time for this it will be a scandal in itself. :fuming:

Really can't believe this has ended without anyone being charged. Insufficent evidence found yet many of the practices including those in the tendering processes were widely known to be fraudulent and improper. Seems like a massive injustice to me.

They stung me for a roof job on a flat in Slateford ten years ago, over £20k between ten residents for a job that supposedly took a month to do. I'd no choice but to pay because I'd sold the place later that year. It's not just in conservation where the corruption is rife, look into things like demolition/building work, particularly schools. We all know the disgraceful cost of these trams and that joke of a parliament building. £500m it cost. £500m for that!??! Labour party, incompetent at best.

That's only in the conservation aspect of the enquiries. 15 people have been charged in the repairs part.
A Crown Office spokesman said: "There will be no criminal charges in respect of allegations of fraud involving the property conservation department of the council.
"However, we would like to make it clear that investigations are ongoing in relation to allegations of criminality concerning the property care services department of the City of Edinburgh Council.
"Once these allegations are completed, a decision will be taken on whether or not proceedings should be raised."

Ah that's a relief! Having heard most of what's going on from people directly involved, it stems all the way to the top. Corruption, bullying and intimidation, money laundering, golfing weekends, drugs and nights out at strip clubs paid for by contractors.

My neighbours and I have been dealing with Building Standards for the last couple of years about a local building hazard and I must say the service we have received has been nothing short of a joke.
How these people stay in their jobs is a wonder. Incompetent, inarticulate, unsympathetic..........oh what's the use?
