I've scanned in James McPake's piece from the brochure received today as everyone should see it.

Absolutely nothing to add!

Superb stuff from James, I feel all inspired.

And looking forward to even better things in the 2nd half of the season.

James McPake embodies all the qulities required to be Hibernian captain.

He improves the team on the pitch.
Hes a role model off it.
He interacts with fans.
Most importantly; he gives a ****.

James McPake

It's been a long time since we had a captain who embodied the hopes and dreams of the supporters.

Call me a cynic but that looks like something Rodders would write. Would even go as far to say that he's more than likely copied the signature from McPake's contract and scanned it into the document. :tin hat:

Very nice, but obviously nothing too do with James Mcpake other than the signature. Still, I'm happy we are getting comms in any case

He just gets it. Whatever "it" is, he just gets it

tbh, I think oor captain does have genuine feelings towards oor club, if you read his tweets he's always pro hibee, and he feels he has a debt to repay the fans after that day in may. Wether it came fi his pen or rods it's a good statement to release.

I'm sure he does feel all of those things, but that strikes me as something that's been written for him.

Well whatever the case, nice sentiment and I'm sure even if he had not wrote it, he still had to approve it

Folks will form their own opinions but confirmed as written by James by Russell Smith at LWT tonight. He just gets Hibs and his role.

I thought Rod was no good at communication anyway so surely not him countless threads tell us so...

Yaaay :greengrin He does, however, obviously hang on every word Pat utters as the phraseology is strikingly similar

No matter, it's nice that he cares for our club :agree:

even if this was ghost written by some marketing chap at Easter Road. It is exactly the kind of things that fans want to hear! and exactly the kind of thing that you want to hear prior to looking at the nice new expensive merchandise on offer!!

Whoever it was who wrote this, McPake is generally walking the walk, and talking the talk. as anyone who follows his Tweets, and watches him on the park, will confirm. He might not be the finished article, or an original Hibee, but he's doing his darndest to fight for Hibs on the park, and to look like he cares. I'm happy with that.

People buy into ideas and individuals that they believe in and I certainly believe in the club right now. We aren't just talking a good game we are following through and we don't lie down to anyone any more.
its one game at a time but I think hearts are going to get a fright in both matches.

He's a proper captain.

Had this been the idea of someone else, we'd have been doing it long before now.

Agree, our team and club captain just "gets it". Frankly I wouldn't care if these were not his own words but actually I think they are. Everytime I see him talk he's straightforward and speaks from the heart.

I can't remember a better captain that embodies team spirit since Frank and Gordon Rae.

Bought a East Terrace stone and replica the other day plus renewed international Hibernian TV for a year (though please sort it out, blo*dy useless).

Anwyway, inspiring stuff!

A REAL captain. Something we've been lacking for many years. :agree:

You just know that the younger boys look up to him.
