Am growing a 'tache for Movember. Nominations, please, for the all-time Hibees Moustache XI.
Arthur Duncan and Bobby Smith are shoo-ins, of course, and Jim McArthur in goal. The Chairman's job has also gone. But other suggestions please.

Sorry boys, you both missed crackin player. Never thought anyone could come in & take my mind off losing 'Onion' but Dessie did.

Sloop sported a mouser too IIRC.

A certain Mr Harvey had a belter (and IIRC the 'robust' Boabby T also grew a big furry felly anaw).

Correct. What a player! I'm old enough to just remember him as one of my first favourites....!

Des Bremner developed into a tremendous right-sided midfielder with Villa and was instrumental in their winning the old First Division title and the European Cup the season after. Superb player.

Seen quite a bit of Des Bremner, he was following some great players, notably John Brownlie but Des was a terrific player and went on to be one of a very small band of players who had an English Chapionship winning medal, a European Cup winning medal and a European Super Cup winner as well, if my memory serves me right

Gentlemen - THIS is a reasonable moustache.

This also is a moustache.

http://www.premierleague.com/content/dam/premierleague/shared-images/managers/g/graeme-souness/graeme-souness-lsh-9.jpg

A proper footballer's moustache should be symmetrical, with no gap in the middle (sorry, Arfur) and attached to the face of a true hatchet man. Too many of the above-mentioned 'mousers' are no more than the feeble efforts of callow adolescents to pretend to a maturity not their own. Jackie Mac is an honourable exception; and Des Bremner presevered in his efforts and by the time of Villa's Euro[ean Cup win was sporting a most creditable example of top-lip facial hair.

http://images.icnetwork.co.uk/upl/sundaymercury/jun2011/8/1/des-bremner-in-his-playing-days-for-blues-and-villa-876909785.jpg

Not the best image, unfortunately.

But I have to say that no footballer in my lifetime has ever sported a REAL moustache. Not one like THIS:

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6mSfMvt9ktk/Tr08bbzeOAI/AAAAAAAADeo/X91Gx8H0F1k/s1600/HUGHES_Mervb_1992_GH_L.jpg

Now THAT, gentlemen, is a REAL MOUSTACHE.

Thanks for all suggestions, have created a moustachioed first XI which I will post.
However, seem to be unable to cut and paste images into a message box. Can anyone tell me what stupid thing I am not doing? I cut/ copy the pic but when I return to the messageboard it won't offer me a 'paste' option.

Sure that Andy Watson had a bit of the face fuzz when he played for us? IIRC it was a bit of a bumfluffer, but maybe that counts, this far into the thread??
